I never got a call...so I don't know...I was sitting on the deck after lunch staring across the road at the hospital...I was wondering how things were going...I have prayed several times today for things to go well...maybe she will feel like posting tomorrow...if it is nothing but to let us know she is ok...

UPDATE: Today fishing girl and I were on our way to Columbia when my phone rang...it was QM's sister calling me.

She told me that things did not go well yesterday during the procedure to try and put the stents in...the doctor could not put in the stents nor could he do the balloon procedure to open up the blockages. QM had complications and had to be shocked to get the heart rhythm going again. Her sister further stated that after she talked to the surgeon last night he did not believe that he could even do open heart surgery again. At least at this point it apparently does not seem to be an option. QM will remain in the hospital at least over the weekend and is undergoing further test. Hopefully she will be allowed to go home the first of the week.

She wanted everyone to know that she appreciates all the love and prayers that have been given to her and she ask that we please keep them going! With that being said, I also ask each of you to please say and extra prayer for not only QM but for her doctors....ask that they find some procedure that can help alleviate the blockages and put QM on a fast road to recovery. With God we know ALL things are possible.

Nope, I havn't heard anything else. I was sitting on the deck earlier today looking at the front of the hospital...wondering how she was...I thought about getting dressed and going over to visit but figured she probably didn't need or want company...I know when I am really sick I just want to be left to heck alone. I did say and extra prayer for her though..

Perhaps after the doc comes in tomorrow her sister can call with further news. I doubt they have gotten any more test results over the weekend.

As soon as I hear anything I will be sure and post. I know we all are worried...just lets all keep the prayers going in her direction!

OK ladies, as I promised here is an update....just got this news from QM's sister...

QM was in the process of getting dressed to go home when her cardiologist came in to see her.. after reviewing all the test from the weekend and then getting with the surgeon, he has decided to try the balloon surgery tomorrow morning and try to place the stents. He said it is VERY risky...however he would be approaching the heart a different way than he tried the other day when she had all the complications.

Her sister ask that we really pray hard tonite for this to be successful....pray from the bottom of your hearts...God will listen I am sure....QM has gone back to bed and the surgery should start in the morning around 6:30 or so...she said she would call me as soon as she could so as soon as I hear I will post to let you all know how things are going....QM's sister was fixing to take QM's son back home and get him settled...she said she would be back very early in the morning...

Get them Bibles and put them hands together...we will help her beat this situation.... Pray too for both the surgeon and the cardiologist...ask the Good Lord to guide them both to make this happen successfully! IF everything goes well, QM should be able to go home on Wednesday.

One of my dear friends' mother has been really sick lately (emphysema/copd) and she just told me that her mother may being undergoing bypass surgery. They're not sure yet when it would be. Please pray for the family. My friend lives on the coast and her mom is up here and she can't get up here to see her right now. My friend also has seizures which get worse under stress (from my understanding), so please pray that God guides her. Thank you, everyone.

:smt023 PRAYERS ARE WORKING! PLEASE KEEP THEM GOING!

I was out cleaning the leaves out of my Koi pond when my phone rang...it was QM's sister. She said the doc had just finished the stent procedure a few minutes ago and that things went VERY well!

However the doc proceeded to go in this time worked and he was able to place two stents into the arteries. She told me that as long as she kept progressing as well as she is right now, the doc is talking about QM getting to go home sometimes tomorrow. The doc apparently went in from a weird angle that he discovered after the test over the weekend and he did not have to go into the part of the heart that caused the complications the other day. What a blessing...the Good Lord is answering our prayers but lets not stop at this point.

I thank God for every miracle he gives us all and for his devine love for us all. I have been in the position with my hubby that QM's sister is in with her. I could NOT have gotten thru the ordeal without the love, support and prayers for not only my hubby but for my strength too...Please ask that the Lord continue to keep both ladies strong and help them thru this ordeal... Oh yes, QM'S sister said tell EVERYONE THANK YOU from the bottom of her heart for all the prayers...she said it means alot to know that friends are praying for them all.

I met with my gyno today and he checked me and said the masses on the ct scan looked to him like fibrous tissue and he sees no reason to do surgery now. He thinks the artery by-pass is much more important. I go back to the artery doctor on the fourteenth. Tomorrow night a week ago at about 8:00 I smoked my last cigarette. Tomorrow will be a whole week. I stayed in bed all day yesterday crying and cried until my appointment at 3:00. Between the quitting smoking and worrying about dang masses upon the artery shi/ it has just dragged me down. I feel better after todays diagnosis. I thank all for your prayers and ask that you keep them going that I will be a candidate for this arterial surgery I need. My prayers are also with those that need them.

Everyone please pray for my nephew, I got custody today from the court, he is 10yrs old. I have had him for 2yrs, he is my sisters son. He has been crying all night and cried himself to sleep. In his little mind he thought his mother and father would show up and want him and get him back. It destroyed him when he found out they did not, he said he knows now that they do not love him, my heart is breaking. My sister is a junkie and his father is too. Pray that I stay under control against my sister. Thanks a lot, we need it.

lwood, you are an angel to take in your nephew...it is heartbreaking to hear of parents who care so little about their children...makes you wonder WHY they had them to begin with. He knows that you love him..but give him big hugs & kisses every day!!! He will have some ?? as he gets older of what/why his parents did this to him..I pray that the strenght you need (when that time comes) that you will know what to say & do.

Say a big Thank You..............God protected my mother-in-law yesterday... An eighteen wheeler ran a four way stop and ran into the side of her............Only bruises and scrapes..............The car looks like the truck sat on it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Thanks.............my daughter was involved in a wreck night before last and is fine.

Also pray for the husband of a friend of mine.................He went in for a routine heart cath and had some trouble. They placed three stints and he had to have blood last night. They are waiting to see if he needs a bypass.

Just to keep everyone posted...I just called XC9's brother to check on how she was doing...they have not taken her to do the procedure yet...the doctor is running late...PLEASE keep the prayers going that everything turns out well for her. We helped get QM through her ordeal now we gotta get the prayers out for XC!

OK, update on XC9! I just spoke with her brother again...she is out of surgery and they just got her back to her room about 6 p.m. They were able to stent one of the arteries and by-pass the other...he said so far she is doing really well...or as well as could be expected. I will check with them again tomorrow..in the mean time continue to pray for her. The Lord is being good to our MH families! We know he is answering our prayers!

I know at the bleakest time of my life, I went to bed at night doing that with the old song in my head and God saw me through it. I slept well knowing that God was really the only thing I could count depend upon.

For those who prayed so fervently for my recovery I am so grateful All my tests are complete and there is nothing wrong. We think I had too many doctors giving me meds. The powerful drug my neurologist gave me for my back pain may have been the culprit of all of my memory loss, fainting and dizzy spells. That combined with stress. The med caused damage to my kidneys or we may never have figured it out. When my doctor took me off of it, I got "well." My friend tells me even my eyes are brighter now. Musta been some bad stuff, but it was successful in pain control. But I can't even have an aspirin now. Trying to get my kidneys back to normal again. So, to all of you who prayed, your prayers were answered and I'm the beneficiary. Thank you all so much. I love you.

My Bible looks like I used it to pass/fail a Theology exam - highlighters in different colors, notes in the margins, pencil marks, slips of paper throughout.

My routine is simple:

1. Quiet time, when no one and nothing can distract me;
2. Add at least 10 or fifteen minutes to absorb and think about the meaning of the verses in MY life (I don't do searching out Scripture to prove a point or justify or to Biblically weaponize Scripture AGAINST others.
3. I use Strong's Bible Concordance to select passages which are particularly pertinent to me, or my family.

I could use some help. One of my New Years resolutions is to study the Bible everyday. I emphasize STUDY and EVERYDAY. I want this time to be productive and not just an attempt to read my Bible. Does anyone have a "method" they use to study the Bible and make what they read apply to today? I have my King James Bible and The Devotional Bible by Max Lucado, which I love. Am I the only one who marks up his Bible?

Mine looks like a textbook - marked up with highlighters, penciled notes in the margins, and shards of paper sticking out the top, much like I'm prepping for a final in Theology 101.

My method of studying the Bible requires absolute QUIET time, preceded by a prayer for understanding. I use Strong's Bible Concordance as a handy, indispensible aid in selecting scripture and enlarging its scope. I refuse to listen to anyone's tapes or opinions about what I read and to reach an understanding. And, every now and then, I use the Cold Mountain approach and just open The Book and let it fall open where it may. Amazingly enough - this method has produced some striking Spiritual results.

Lastly, more quiet time to ponder what I've read and then - effort to REMEMBER what the effects were on my serenity and quest for peace and spiritual growth.

Dollfus, I highly recommend Sproul's Knowing Scripture. He has a reading plan that will keep you from perishing in the desert wastes of Leviticus (which is where most plans to read the Bible through seem to falter. ;) )
You don't have to read it all in order, except the historical books. I would start with Genesis in the OT, and Luke & Acts in the NT.
