I just got back from Dr. Hatten for my post op exam. Everything looks and sounds good to him so that means I am on my way to a complete recovery. Thanks goes out to each and every one of y'all for praying for me. I was REALLY scared. When he started talking amputation, I freaked and have not been myself for 2 months now. Seeing him today has made me feel MUCH better and many of the thoughts that were racing through my head can be gone now. Thank all of you and thank you God for my friends on here that I have never met. God bless each one of you and your family. Thank you so much.

I have a relative going on a mission trip to Israel this month. I'm really concerned about her safety, but fully understand her reasons for wanting to go. If y'all think about it, say a prayer for her. She's a very special person that's had a rough road the past 2 years. I hope that not only will she make an impact and help others, but that it will be a renewing experience for her as well.

My best friend from Wisconsin just called me to tell me that her aunt passed away yesterday night after a battle with Breast Cancer. She was very close to her aunt (she was her godmother). Her aunt had two young daughers, 18 and 19. Please keep them all in your prayers as they got through this difficult time. Thanks.

I returned back to work to discover that one of my bosses passed away while I was gone... he returned to work in October after a battle with prostrate cancer and seemed to be doing really well. In my line of work, it is not often that I work with people whom I truly respect and admire, who have integrity and who are sincere and just genuinely great people and he was one of the few exceptions. I had just spoken with him a few days before Christmas and he sounded great and was very upbeat and positive. I came back to find that he had passed away at home, about a week after I last spoke to him. he was only in his late 40's and has a beautiful family. He was a truly brilliant man and he will be dearly missed up here. Please pray for his family that they might be held in the comforting embrace of our Lord and Savior during this difficult time in their lives...

Also, please always remember to treat everyone that you meet with kindness, patience and understanding... You never know what someone may be going through and you never know when it might be the last time that you get to see or speak to someone... May the Lord bless and keep us all encircled with his love and protection and may we all be kind and helpful to one another.... I am very grateful for this thread and my heartfelt prayers go out to all of those in need at this time... God bless...

Baloo I am praying for you and your friends fam.

I also have two prayer request. My bosses dad passed away last night. The doctors thought he had Nemonia (sp?) 2 weeks ago. Last week he was put into the hospital with it. He coded twice and never regained consciousness after the second code. So yesterday late the doctors and his family decided to start shutting down the equipment. He died around 10 pm last night. They need our prayers this weekend. His name is David Morrow. I hope its ok to post his name if not please tell me and I will edit it out. Thanks everyone for your prayers and support.

I am still struggling with this talk that I have to write for a spiritual retreat weekend. I have done this is the past and the only way that the work got done was for ME to turn it over and let God help me. I am having a big problem doing this now. I think that I have become so selfish and so bitter at some things over the last few months and even angry at God that I cannot let things go and let him handled it. I know thats part of my struggle. Please pray that I will be able to let it go and let him guide me, my mind and my hands to accomplish the task.

Give yourself a prayerful day. Remember Mother Theresa had doubts at times too. You just try to keep your faith and ask God to help you to give this task up to him so he may be able to help you. On a lighter side, maybe God is saying "Fire Extinguisher-THIS IS A TEST!" :smt023 you'll pass his test as long as you keep the faith you had. I just stopped and said a prayer for you. God is with you, have a great time on your retreat. This post you made may be a beginning to the speech you will make.

I ask that everyone remember my favorite brother-n-law with prayer. He had a stroke about 22 yrs ago due to a blockage in his neck...he had bypass surgery on the neck soon after..about 5 or 6 years ago he had to have major surgery and have bypasses in his stomach, kidneys and liver...now tomorrow he is having to have another bypass in one of his shoulders. I am not for sure if it is his "good" arm or not. When he had the stroke he lost most of the use in one of his arms...however, he still kept his speech and other functions.

He has been through alot and has learned from his mistakes, he is a former alcoholic and now works with alcoholics and drug addicts in some type of recovery program in PA...he has never let his illnesses get the best of him...he has been free of his addiction now for almost 25 years..
I know prayer will help and I appreciate all your help. Thanks

I also ask for your prayers for my dad... he is supposed to be going to the doctor tomorrow to have a tumor in his ear checked out. Thanks for all the prayers...we got news a little bit ago, FINALLY..they went in to try and do the procedure and was unable to. The doc was trying to do the "roto-rooter" job but the vein was completely blocked so they had to stop.

My s-n-law said they will have to go back and talk to the surgeon again to see how he will proceed from here. He "really" doesn't want to open my b-n-law back up and do extensive surgery, he is not for sure he would survive the trauma without having another stroke. Today they went in thru the left groin area but found the complete blockage before they could do what they had to do to stent...the blockage is between his neck and his right arm in the main vessell into his arm...His right arm is his "good" arm so it is very important to get a good blood flow to it. PLEASE continue to pray the doc can get something figured out SOON. I really appreciate all your love and prayers.

Fishing Girl ask that I post a request for prayers for her hubby's grandmother. They went to Starkville to see her a day or two ago and she is not doing very well. She is old and tired and has pretty much given up her will to live. She is in her 90's. Fishing Girl just told me she is worse today than she was yesterday so it doesn't look like it will be long. Granny has pretty much stopped eating or drinking so that is not good either. All prayers and thoughts will be much appreciated.

Jamie (James) Jenkins of Purvis was in a horrendous wreck on his way to work this morning about 5:30 am - in front of 21 Truck Stop/Dan's Diner.
The third hand info I have is that he is currently being given about 20% chance of survival.

He is a young father with a newborn and three other young children.

He is a coworker of mine. I don't know him well but he seems like a good fellow.
His FIL is Jimmy Boone, the former Purvis Police Chief.

Your little dog is with the part of your family that has gone on too. They are in heaven with God and are very well taken care of. It is time to take care of you now-you are the one left here, we need help and prayers here so we can see our family when it is our time to go. I DO believe that we see our family members and if we consider our pets family we will see them too. Can you imagine what the people (who don't believe this) will experience when they get to heaven and realize ALL living breathing creatures are there. I know I will see the little animals I have lost on this earth when Jesus says it is time. Take care of yourself Sunflower my prayers are for you and your grieving. God bless you.

Sunflower

She is an angel now looking down smiling at her friend and momma!!
I am so sorry!

A little bit ago I posted a prayer request for my husband's niece who was diagnosed with colon cancer. She is 35 years old and lives in England. They did not do the surgery when they had first planned because she got sick and they wanted to make sure she didn't catch pneumonia. They rescheduled it, but they then discovered that the cancer has attached to her ribs and they would have to break her ribs in order to remove it. They said that they're going to do something called (I think) radio therapy (?? please correct me if I'm mistaken about this) where they're going to try and use a laser to remove it. If that's un-successful, they're going to start Chemo to try and shrink it (I think). She is married and has one son. While her mom, siblings and other family members live in England, all of her "other" family is here in Mississippi praying for her. Please remember her and her family and ask the Lord to guide her doctors' hands and to bless her family.

Please, please, pray me &my Golden Retriever, Lexi ,today... pray for healing and comfort for her. Pray for the vet that he may have steady and wise hands.... pray for me, that I may have the courage to do what is right for Lexi based on what is reccomended. Whatever the decision, pray for peace for both me, and my sweet girl. This is going to be a long and difficult day.

She's staying at the vet tonight, and probably tomorrow night as well. No cancer, but some kidney problems & extreme dehydration. They've got her on an IV. We'll know the extent of kidney damage once they can get a urine sample. Got her on steriods to reduce inflamation & some pain killers to help her with the arthritis pain. Should know soon what we can expect....

Thanks for the prayers, and keep them coming!

Hear our humble prayer, O God,
for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for animals that are overworked,
underfed and cruelly treated;
for all wistful creatures in captivity
that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted
or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them
we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

Lips, as an owner of a golden, I know how special they are!!! I hope your baby is better.
My Abby, who is my golden now, is enjoying a good life since I adopted her from an agency...My main concern now is my Dylan, I really fear and accept that he will not be here for much longer. He is 14 and I have decided to let him live his last days as he wishes without intervention. I am sad but I think I will be ok......Just remember, it is the QUALITY of life, not the QUANITY, esp. when suffering is a part og it.
Good luck Lips!

I went by and saw her this morning... they've found a mass in her abdomen. Doing an Xray in a little while to find out if it's a tumor :(
