Black Dots

ok so lately i have noticed that black dots are appearing on my dog...i was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or if anyone knows what they are...they look like little freckles all over....your help in this would be greatly appreciated

My wires had black "dots" or "spotches" on their skin...you couldn't really see them unless I had just stripped their coat...I think that is just the way that breed is naturally...I don't know about other dogs though, sorry..

Unless it is like a mole or something I probably wouldn't worry about it. The ones on my wires were like discoloration of the skin pigament... I would see other wires who had the same thing so I suppose that is just the way they were.

What kind of dog do you have?

thanks so much for the info maggie - ill def. check it out.....the way i describe them is they look like freckles or mini moles that are mainly on his neck, ears, and under his arms...they are also on his chest...and i was just freaking out bc i had no clue what they were...im starting to think that maybe they are the pigment things...who knows...

iheart, I don't know how to explain this, if the dots are like a discoloration of the skin, I wouldn't worry...if they are like a mole on a person and stick out from the skin you may want to have him checked by the vet...or at the very least keep a close check to make sure they don't enlarge or anything... I have some small moles on my neck and shoulders and my doc calls them "skin tags" they don't usually bother me but my doc said if they should get sore or darken in color etc. come let him take a look..I would think the same thing would apply for a doggy.
