One of my favorite Christian bands is Casting Crowns. I find these 2 songs particularly touching... I think they speak as a reminder to the Christian churches today that we are far too wrapped up in our own self-righteousness that we've lost sight of who Christ wants us to be as a body.

I thought I would start this thread for anyone to post lyrics of songs you find relevant or touching.

Here are my 2, by Casting Crowns.

"Does Anybody Hear Her"
She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

"If We Are The Body"
It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl's teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know

But if we are the body
Why aren't His arms reaching?
Why aren't His hands healing?
Why aren't His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren't His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgemental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road

Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ

I love "If we are the body" by Casting Crowns. I actually can listen to the first 6 songs of that CD over and over, but that particular song really seems to hit a truth for me.

Thank you for starting this thread. I was just thinking the other day that someone should start one for lyrics. Here is the youtube video link for a song that God has really been using in my life. I love music. And am so thankful for the people that God has used to write amazing songs that encourage me in my faith. Here is one song, called 'Inside out' by the Hillsongs.

A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains And should I stumble again
I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart and my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out
Lord let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out

Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out

In my life be lifted high

In our world be lifted high

In our love be lifted high
