Hello to Hattiesburg

Hi.

I was through Hattiesburg in Jan 06 with a group from our church headed down to Gulfport to work on a house demolished by Katrina. We stopped in your town and had a great meal at a buffet which must have been on the south side of town.

I hope that things are getting a little more back to normal in the gulf area in the past few months. It sure looked bad back then.

I always thank you guys when I see you coming... sometimes, if I have cash, I'll give you some $$$ to contribute to whatever project you're there to work on.

I was on a plane from ATL last year flying into gulfport, and a group from IL were on there. I gave them $20 and told them to buy some extra nails or something.

I'm not sure if the area directly on the coast will ever be the same in my lifetime, and hopefully, I've got another 50 years left. I know the trees I grew up with aren't the one's my son will grow up with. That makes me sad, in a way, but he'll never know.

Oh, well... that's life for you.

Hi Billy...I definitely want to thank you and anyone else who was with you. Without the help from the wonderful people around this country, we wouldn't have stood again. There's just no way. I am from Long Beach and most of the town was wiped out. What a miserable time, but the people who came to our rescue definitely find hero status in my eyes, as well, as the eyes of the other southern Mississippians (that can't be said right) (I'm sure). I met a lot of people from Ohio...what state are you from btw?
