"I know what your religion tells you the experience will be like, but eternity is a long, long time..."
I believe my eternity in heaven will be much more enjoyable than one who has chosen to be sent to Hell.

Valk negged me and I got no help? I understand.
Sorry Dollfus, I missed that... Amandah, thanks for the great news that he is gone!!! I don't mind that he had a different opinion, just the way he expressed it...
Back on topic, I also think that heaven will be everything we ever dreamed of and so much more... Complete peace and happiness...

:smt059  :rainbow: :angelwing With so much talk about religion I wanted to put a post up for believers and ask what they think the afterlife will be like? I believe in my faith strongly enough to know my God is a loving, forgiving God. I believe it will be a wonderful and beautiful place and we will meet our loved ones on the other side. I have had too many spiritual things happen to me to believe otherwise. I would like to know what other believers think about this?
Read the book "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. It will answer a lot of your questions.

I believe that animals do indeed have souls & that they go to Heaven. Have you ever heard the poem "Rainbow Bridge"? I believe that the Garden of Eden is in Heaven & all the pets that you have ever loved & have loved you will be waiting there for us.:)

The bible tells us a little about what heaven is going to be like and I hope my dogs will be there they love so unconditionally and it says the Lion will lay down with the Lamb so I have high hopes our animals go to heaven too.

i don't know about the animals myself... i hope my dog is there but to be honest... i really wouldn't care about it if it weren't... i'm going to heaven to see Jesus... not to just get out of hell... and when i do... nothing else that i had in this world would matter anyway... kinda want that on earth if you catch my drift

true... because then it will be what theologians call the Consummation of the Age when Christ is united with his bride forever...

That's a good thought! I hope my pets will be there with me. At times, the pets I have had were the most loyal members of my family and I miss them dearly.

Have any of you ever felt like you were someone else in a earlier life? I was. :smt040
Yeah....I've felt that way....but I don't think I was anybody famous like most people do....I think I was probably some smartass white boy like I am now, except maybe I lived in Ireland or Scotland....

I was a young indian brave who ate too many shrooms, fell off his black and white paint pony and broke his neck. Just before he died, he fell in love with a little nekid damsel wif wings what was living in de grass. He felt like King Kong must'a felt trying to fondle dat little full breast wif him big ole finger. :kekeke: After dat he spirit soared and him became a hawk. :kekeke:
I think I was drinking cheap beer in an Irish pub....when Daniel McGuire accused me of playin' with his girl's Lucky Charms.....I told him I wouldn't touch his fat sow with a 10 foot potato, and even a 10 foot potato wouldn't phase her if I did....He stabbed me in the back with a staff as I was takin' a leak and singing some song about a dude named Erin.....

but he looked like Jesus too... in victory over death and sin and everything... the dead in Christ shall rise too... but our death does not mean that we get a second chance... it is appointed unto man once to die...

Do you believe we will know our loved ones in Heaven? When we are there, will we want to be with those who left before us? I don't have any scripture to say one way or the other, but I have been told that we won't really know who our family was and we will have love for everyone equally. Can anyone give me some scripture references to this?

I'm not sure what heaven will be like. Not sure what anyone will look like. I find it beyond my intelligence and imagination that I won't be back on earth sometime as someone else. I mean, in all of history of mankind from caveman to 10,000 years from now, what are the odds that you showed up here, now, only instead of at least once in the past nor never again in history. That you were't a tribesman in Africa in 1800's or a Roman in 500 b.c. I'm not talking about reincarnation I don't think. Maybe I am. I ono.

I'll take a stab at it...
Luke 16:19-31
(my understanding) It seems after the rich man died he still recognized Lazarus and remembered his five brothers.
