Within the last month or so my laptop is not able to open a browser window when I click on a link in an email or any other app. When I click on a link in an email I get the message "(link that I clicked on) - No application is associated with the specified file for this operation". When I click on a link in something else like a help file or an "about" window, nothing at all happens. I'm guessing that the OS just doesn't know what to do with that action.
I'm pretty sure it's not a file association because I've looked at them and they all seem to be right.
If I knew exactly when it started I guess I could have loaded a restore point and that may have helped, but I don't know when it happened.
Anyway, anybody got any clues? It's not a real big deal because I can copy the link and paste it in a browser, but it's definitely aggravating.

Have you tried uninstall/reinstall?

Have you tried uninstall/reinstall?You mean the OS? Man, I don't want to do that unless it was absolutely necessary. Living with this would be a lot less aggravating than a reinstall.

No, the browser. Also, have you tried to just install an alternate browser like Opera to see what it does with links. At least you could narrow it to a browser problem or an OS problem.

I may try that one day to see if it helps.

Go buy a new one, save all your files to it, and put the one that's aggrivating on Ebay!!! Take the easy way out!!!!!!:)
