Has anyone played this? I've played only briefly. I need to install on big computer so it runs better. You can make your own place in the game and then make a slurl that points to it.

For example, AskPatty.com has a spot in second life on Motorai Island. they have a lounge that plays music. You can even pick up a free t-shirt (in game) by visiting there.

It sounds pretty cool. we could put hattiesburg on the second life map :)

Yeah, I have a character in it. I have wandered around the world for a little while, picking up some clothes and other things, and going to CNet's headquarters. It seems like most of the good stuff to me is paid though. As in, takes Linden dollars to do it, which have to be bought with real dollars.

you dont really 'play' second life though...you just kinda collect stuff then stand around and let everyone admire your stuff

Well, you kind of play the game of life in there. Plenty of people are making more real money than me in that "game".

china farmers make plenty of money in wow too

SL is a cool concept though in that you can model and texture your own in game 'items'...thats definitely something nobody else has really been able to pull off

Not only that, they are expanding it now so you can run land on your own server.
