Comcast has now removed Hallmark (about the only thing my mom watches) and CSPAN-2, which has BookTV, one of the few things I care about. They've been moved to digital channels. There's so little on TV I care about anyway, and this is really annoying. Hate to pay any more -- it's ridiculous now.
Anybody know what their plan is for Channels 17 & 20?

Hallmark was the best channel on TV. I noticed it gone earlier this week. I am very disappointed that Comcast took it off regular cable. I guess we are going to have to pay to be able to get it again.

It is a :smt022 shame, but there is just not anything worth watching on TV anymore. It is like everything else always wanting to change to make things better, but all they are doing is making things worse. :(

People wonder were kids come up with some of the ideas they have these days...will I personally think it comes from what they see on TV & movies . It is really scary. :smt103

get used to the fact that all telecom/television providers will do everything under their power to screw you out of money.

I think you are probably right with that comment. No matter where I go, people are bitching about their cable channels, reception etc....my S-I-L in PA says the same thing about their cable company.

I wondered who watched that channel... Sorry, I never 'got' it... I lump it right in there with lifetime, BET, and QVC. When I had them, they only got a passing when going from one channel to another...

I'd watch the Hallmark channel sometimes on Sunday afternoons when there was nothing else of interest. It reminded me of Lifetime -- good family, women-based movies.

I agree and I know the men will fuss when I say this but they showed alot of movies about domestic violence and would usually have a short section at the end telling how to prevent abuse, where to report it and how to get help if you are in that kind of relationship.

I have had women tell me that after watching a movie there, it moved them to try and seek help to get out of the dv relationship they were in. THAT is a good thing...some people don't know it "can" be different and that there are people out there who will help them.

Older folks, like my mom, don't find a lot on TV that interests them. They don't care that much about sports, popular music, or celebrities, and that's about all there is on TV. Mom watches Fox News shows, Lawrence Welk, a little HGTV and DID watch Hallmark. I imagine she's fairly representative of her age group. It's a shame she has to pay $50 a month for such slim pickin's.

Get dish :)

By the way, did you guys see the articles that Comcast's profits were up 80% for the first quarter this year? Makes you all warm and cozy to know a company making so much money has the customer's best interest in mind, huh :smt103
