I've run across several websites on Buying American and one product I ran across was Buddy Jeans manufactured in New Hebron, MS. Anybody ever heard of it. Sounds like a great pair of jeans. Check out the product specs and history of the company at Buddysjeans.com. I may order a pair to test 'um out.

Ok, the Buddy Jeans scoop:
Both of you are correct. Currently there is a store front in New Hebron but there are no sales that I am aware of. Someone bought out the Buddy name, received a grant to rekindle the business, and as I am told they reinvested the money into a textile in Magee, Ms.
I remember people wearing Buddy Jeans from years ago but have not seen any recently. It was an icon for us locally for awhile. You don't run into many things that are made in this immediate area that also have a local tag.
Perhaps for most of you the easiest way to get to New Hebron just to see the village / town is to take Hwy. 84 West from Collins and take the right in Silver Creek, Ms. ; there is a sign pointing to New Hebron. You go through Prentiss first on Hwy. 84 to get to Silver Creek. Lone Star is about 12 West of Collins, Prentiss is about another 8 miles and Silver Creek is about another 8-10 miles. New Hebron is about 8-10 miles from Silver Creek.

I try to buy American if it isn't ridicuously overpriced...

For instance, I was in the market for a high visability vest or T-shirt...

The American Made T-shirt cost $26, the Made in China T-shirt cost $9.

The American Made vest cost $32, the Made in China vest cost $8.

Which one do you think I bought?

It's hard to buy American, I mean, really. What's left here? Some meat, fruit, and veggies. I don't know of one American made car anymore, do ya'll? That's why I'm building my '50 Plymouth, cuz it be made right 'cheer. What about durable goods? Most lawnmowers I've looked at are made in Mexico or Canaduuhh, I'm not even sure if I can get an American made TV anymore, or computer for that matter. Well, at least I got my American made wife and daughters!!!
