If you were "recruited" to come to our little community website to debate the issue of creation vs. evolution, you've worn out your welcome. Honestly, I don't care what you believe, and how small minded of a redneck you think I am. I don't care what side of the issue you are on.....go home.
This forum is for folks who have a connection with Hattiesburg, Miss. So, if you can't find Hattiesburg with the help of a state road map, a GPS and an experienced Indian tracker, please take your discussions back to the forums you were recruited from....

Normally, I would disagree with this. I don't really care where a member is located, but when they make up aliases to disagree with themselves so they can keep the discussion going, it's getting a little ridiculous. Still, please learn to just stay out of those topics. You can put any member here on your ignore list and you won't see posts made by them. As long as a thread stays on-topic, I don't personally see a problem if it has 10 replies or 1000.

Normally, I wouldn't make a post like this (and Aaron you know this, man). But, normally I wouldn't have to make a post like this either....This is a very special circumstance.

Is this really necessary? They will get tired of it all if they are ignored. Just don't reply if you don't want to and if they are truly uninterested in this site - they will leave.

It's like spam....a pain in the rear, but at least you can ignore the thread.

This is a case where "ignore them and they'll go away" is the only realistic option. (Though I've been guilty of posting to those threads a bit more than I should. BrentG's been doing a good job with them.)

When I read a thread that's going the way of 'Evolution et al', I am always tempted to climb up on my soapbox, because, I like everyone else, have an opinion (and these opinions are very personal to me). But, except in unusual fits of ire, I control my urge to 'fire off' that hot response to someone with whom I totally disagree. We have the right to disagree but we don't always have to express it in a post. Tis much better to let the barking dog wear himself out than to go up to him and taunt him until you get bit!

You know what, I think I will. While there are plenty of other websites that are set up for this sort of discussion, the main reason I'm going is that I don't really have a connection to Hattiesburg at all. Even if I stayed away from the evolution debate, it would be like a stranger spoiling the party. If debating tickles your fancy, head on over to CF. I've met some great people there.
Have a very nice day. Oh, one more thing:
I don't really care where a member is located, but when they make up aliases to disagree with themselves so they can keep the discussion going, it's getting a little ridiculous. That's not true.

I've pretty much ignored the thread as much as possible lately.
Is that something we can get a council admin work session on? An ignore thread button.. I know I don't care if there are new posts in the word games or the Daily Christian Devotional... I'm not going there to read them, and it'd be nice if they didn't clutter up my 'new posts'.

An ignore thread button..
How about we just put these two areas in groups, so those who don't care about the games don't have to sift through the posts?
We did this for the relationships thread, and everyone seems to love that.

I didn't even realize they were still a problem. I haven't read those threads in weeks. I agree with Amandah. I also think they will get tired of arguing with themselves soon enough.

I think the forum games are a group. I know I couldn't see any of them when I hit 'new posts' until I subscribed to the group.
CB, if you are seeing the forum games, try to unsubscribe to that group. See if that will help. :)
Forum games are not in a group.

MH Gamers is for people who play video games and online games. Not the MH forum games. The Forum Games have never been a group.
What's his face says he's leaving, but whether he does or not, the whole thing will fade quickly if everyone just lets it go. Then you won't have to worry about moving threads, etc.

Wow, I wish we could ignore some threads and even members, sometimes when I see some threads...they're like red buttons that say do not touch...makes the more fun to press! But I try not to go to threads or read posts by members I know will probably make me mad.

You can ignore members. Just place them on your ignore list. :-D

The problem I have with the 'ignore' feature, is that I'll read a thread and it'll be post, post, post then "post by user you are ignoring," and I just want to see wtf they said, so I read it, then realize why they're on ignore, and then... *sigh* see? I can't ignore anyone...
