Anyone remember the show 'The Good News'? I don't think it comes on anymore, but all they showed was good news, no bad crap or depressing stuff, so, I figured I'd start a thread to post 'good news' on, you know, ways you feel blessed. Just simple day-to-day events that make you smile. I'll start off.
My oldest daughter suggested last night that we pray for the people who got hit by the tornado. Now, that's coming from a 6 year old, kinda made me feel good, ya know, like I might be doing something right.

Thank you.
She has been in Petal since go....
I am so proud of her!
She is going on a mission trip this summer and speaking to youth in Puerto Rico. She is just the best kid a parent could ask for. She loves God, Respects her parents and elders, will do chores, makes all A's, and she is really pretty, got a great sense of humor. I love that girl of mine!
I have a son as well he just turned two. Can I say TERRIBLE TWO!
nah he is great too.

Just remember, after you are gone, the only true legacy you have are your children and grandchildren, and it appears you're doing good. I had to work late last night (I mentioned that in another thread). I was about to go to sleep at like 10, when some stranger, out of nowhere, asks if I need coffee. Just a stranger, I thought, wow, now this guy get's it.

so did you take him up on the coffee?
That was really nice of him, it seems now that you don't have much time to think of yourself much less someone else. Sounds like a sincere person.

OH, and get this. I had to go to Denver a couple of years ago for some training. First time to fly, etc. The whole experience went down great. My wife went with me. We were like TOTALLY lost at the airport, what with all the security and stuff. We just didn't know what the heck we were doing. I've always been scared to fly, the wife has always wanted to. We get on the plan and guess who freaks out, my wife. I remained cool, and actually enjoyed flying. She wouldn't even look out the window. Anyway, we land in Houston for one of those connecting flights, we had to RUN across the airport to get to the other flight in time, oh, and my wife was like 5 months pregnant at the time. Well, we make it to the other flight. My wife had to sit a couple of rows away from me, we couldn't get side by side seats because we booked so late, anyway, she ends up sitting by some guy that just would NOT shutup about his condo in Florida, yadda, yadda, yadda. She had to listen the whole way to Denver to this jackass. Anyway, we get there and are standing in the biggest darn airport either of us have ever seen. We're like, holy crap, this place is bigger than Hattiesburg, ya know? Well, we literally wonder around for about 30 minutes AFTER getting our luggage, I mean, you need a map for this airport. I see a sign down the hall for Enterprise rent-a-car, as I rented one before we left. So, I walk up to the counter and whip out my reservation paperwork and the guy behind the counter just looks at me like I'm some dumb redneck from Mississippi. I say, "Hey dude, how's it going?" He's like, "Uh, fine. Buenos noches". I'm like, "Uh, Taco grande, I need my rental car, here's my paperwork, nacho supremaaa...." He looks at me like I pissed him off, and points WWWAAAAYYYY down the hall and says I gotta go outside, catch a freakin' shuttle bus to go get my car, that he only make reservations at this counter. I'm like, what? So, we march about 2 miles to the "islands" they call them, one has a sign that says, enterprise, so we walk over to it and stand there, you gotta picture it, we were TOTALLY lost and outta place there. People were standing around with the snow ski's and stuff, and we're standing there with like maps, and brochures, and a freakin' GPS that's telling me I need to go home. So anyway, after like 10 minutes or so, this bus comes screeching to a halt, some guy bounces off, musta had like 10 cups of coffee that morning, he asks if we're going to get an enterprise rental car, I nod, I couldn't speak, as I was dumbstruck being in such a foreign place, I mean, I didn't even smell any cornbread cookin'. So he grabs our luggage and we all load up on this smelly 'shuttle', they call it. Well, we drive like 5 miles AROUND the airport and pull up into the BIGGEST parking lot you'll ever see, I mean cars for MILES. In the middle was a little office for Enterprise, we unload, and I actually remember to tip the guy. My wife, being pregnant but NOT barefoot, needs to go to the bathroom. So we go inside and she heads straight for the potty, I walk up to the counter and whip out my paperwork, again, to get my rental car. Now, let's pause here, and digress a moment. I have a VERY good job, I get paid very good, and have very good benefits. However, the company I work for is pretty cheap when it comes to rental cars, like, the economy size is all you get, you dig? Well, my wife was worried about it as was I. So anyway, they guy behind the counter starts getting things in order. My wife returns from the bathroom, dreading the fact that we're about to get a little bitty car. The guys asks for Id, etc. He see's we're from Mississippi and light's up. He's like "Wow, I've been to Mississippi!" I'm like, "Wow, you speak English!", he was a good chap and laughed at my reply. He stares at us for a minute like he had never seen rednecks before, had this funny smile on his face. Then, outta nowhere, he asks, "Is this your first time to visit Denver?" I'm like, "Dude, look at us, can't you tell were as lost as freakin' Amelia Eirhart? We've never been here, to answer your question." I mean, really, we were standing there in awe of everything, the big airport, the big parking lot, all the cars, the big mountains on the horizon, etc. We were really awestruck. Then he smiles again, which makes me nervous, so I'm like getting ready to punch the guy, I mean who stares at you and smiles, a perv, right? Then a light shown down, and he says,"How would you like a FREE upgrade, today, being it's your first visit here and all." I'm like, looking around now for Ed Mcmahan to pop out with a check, ya know. We thought we had won the lottery. No more little economy car. So I ask him, "What do we choose from?" Cause I'm thinking he's gonna bump me up to the compact or some other too small car. He say's,"Pick anything on the lot, you can take it." Then a beam of light hit him, I was flabberghasted. Needless to say, we picked the Nissan Armada 4wd, as it was snowing, thank God for little miracles, that's it. Oh, and I found out yesterday, that I gotta go back at the end of June to Denver, I'm gonna go find that guy that gave us the upgrade and bring him some cornbread.
