As I sat in my pick-up today waiting for the Southbound train at 1st. Ave. in Petal, I was thinkin' to myself,"This freakin' train has just me late for work from my lunch break."
Next thing I know here comes the end of the train and the gates go up, and I am merrily on my way back to work (after I spent 16.00 bucks on stainless steel screws at AceHardware to fix my boat with). As a meandered on North 11 back to the Plant another thought crossed my mind, "What ever happened to the Caboose on Trains?" A simple Google and a click over to wikipedia gave me my answer! Enjoy!

Whenever my parents and I go to PA to visit family, we always make it a point to go to Strasburg. There they have a railroad museum and a roadside motel made of nothing but old railroad cabooses. There are different styles of cabooses and each one is painted in the colors of all the former railroads which have went out of business over the years. Check it out:http://www.redcaboosemotel.com/

I love trains, just barely remember when they were common transportation. I vaguely remember as a very small child standing out on the platform of the caboose with a conductor, watching the track as we went along. Wish I could remember being in the caboose. Maybe in a few years when the remaining short-term memory goes and the old memories come back full force. Of course by then I won't remember anything about MH, so won't be able to share . . .
