Here is a classic message on godly mothers by Peter Marshall: http://www.christianhomekeeper.com/keeper.shtml

My own dear mother died 7 years ago this month and I still miss her. I guess that I always will until we are reunited in heaven. :)

Zorro, I know what you mean about missing your mom...mothers day seems to really make it worse. I lost my mom in April 1999...

All I say to people is IF you have your mom here on earth with you, please don't hesitate to hug her and tell her just how much you love her. One day you may not have the chance to do so.

The other day a friend and I was out shopping...while in one of the stores I ran into someone I knew and I started chatting with her...almost immediately she started bitching about having to look for gifts for her mom, grandmom and great-grandmom....we talked a little more and she again started on her tiraid about looking for them a gift.

At this point I was fuming! I couldn't take it anymore...I finally told her, "well sistergirl, all I can tell you is you better be glad you still have your mom, grandmom and grtgrndmom! I don't! I would give anything to have my mom here to be able to buy for!" "My grandmothers too!" She promptly said well, I gotta go, see ya....leaving in a huff. There were three or four people in close proximity to me...one appologized for listening in on our conversation and stated she appreciated me telling the girl off and the other two or three then applauded...all except one had also lost their mothers. By the way, I did buy my mom something for mothers day.. a big bokay for her grave! Not the same by a long shot!

My sweet Mama went to Heven five years ago to be with our Lord Jesus in Heaven. She was the most unselfish person that I have ever known, bar none. She was a kind generous loving soul who ALWAYS put others before her self. He was a Christian woman who not only talked the talk, but walked the walk. When she passed away, I felt a my heart had been ripped out of my chest. I could not have stood it, but the knowlege that I WILL see her again in Heaven & my stron faith carried me through. Daddy went to Heaven to be with her & Jesus one month ago. I was with him when he passed away (by myself) & I believe that Jesus sent Mama to come & get him. The pain never goes away, but time helps you cope. I feel somewhat like an orphan now. I was very blessed to be raised by 2 Christian parents.:)

My momma is sweet as Tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree
Sheeeee's as sweet as Tupelo honey
Just like honey from a bee.

Wickedly smart, patient, tolerant, great sense of humor.....no other woman could have been my mother!

My mama is as good as they make 'em. I'm grateful to have her. Mother's Day is a little hard for her since my sister died, so Baby Bro and I do our best to make it nice for her.
She too has deep faith, which has been tested in the fire of much hardship, and has never stopped loving and doing for others. In my avatar today, that's her at about 25. I think she's just as pretty today.
