ANOTHER late night jaunt.....

Okay, some of you saw my post last week about my late night adventure to a local Walmart. Well, I had to work late again last night. This time, the adventure takes place at the place where I was working on a project, and I'll tell you it was at a Home Depot store in a town that starts with Brook and ends with Haven, MS. Now, I'll remind ya'll, I'm NOT a late night person, my butt is usually in bed by 9pm, okay? So anyway, me and my partner's in crime are doing our job, swapping out communication servers, etc. It's late, I'm sleepy, I think it was like midnight or something, anyway, they only got like 5 employees who work that late, you know, doing the restocking thing, etc. So I had the store pretty much to myself, I'm wondering the aisle's, swapping out phones, making sure LAN connections are still functional, the typical VOIP project. Well, I'm bent over under this desk connecting a phone, there is a stock girl one aisle over. I'm crammed under the darn desk, done hit my head like 3 times, pissed off, dusty under there, when I feel something rub against my leg. Yeah, you know what I was thinking, I was about to byatch slap someone back to last year, so I jump out from underneath the desk, and there ain't nobody there. I'm like, WTF? I look down and there sits this damn cat, a real cat. I'm like, I'm freakin' hilucinating or something, so I turn around and get back to work. Well, this cat keeps rubbing against my leg. Finally, I kick the little shit. It meows real loud, and the girl stocking on the next aisle comes running over. She's like,"What's going on? Did you hurt my cat?" I'm like, "WTF? That's YOUR cat?!?!?!?" She says, "Well, it lives here." I stand there a moment and ask her,"The cat LIVES here?" She said yes. She also said to watch out for the kittens!!!! What? Cats are living in a hardware store? I ask her,"Uh, is this Petsmart or Home Depot?" She gets all pissed off and tells me I better leave the cats alone, that everyone that works there knows them and they let them roam around, IN THE STORE. I tell her, if the darn thing rubs on me again, and I get a flea bite, I'm gonna kick it again. Well, she stomps off. I just couldn't believe it, cats living inside a store, the managers know it, and don't mind it. Am I the only sane person left? By the way, I have nothing against cats, except I don't like them.

I agree whole heartedly, there's no reason to make them suffer. A clean, painless kill is always preferable.
