It must be the same idiots that call the HPD...over there we would answer, "Hattiesburg Police" then the idiot would say, "is this the police dept?" (It was too bad we could reach through the phone lines for them, we would have choked them purple!) :) I had one girl who they did that to several times in a row and the next call that did that she told them "NO, this is Sears and Roebucks!)

Fish-...Read it and WEEP BABY.........
I'm still on "home work" schedule. Did 3.5 acres of yard work today, followed by some plantings, watering, etc. Looked at cows, searched for new calf which may be named Rojo, found him. Then his Mama found me finding Rojo, I found the big red truck and high tailed it at that point, you know how new Mama's are. Pulled up border blocks and put down border bricks. Loaded, hauled and spread some crushed limestone. Unloaded the Jeep from my store run. Rode around in the big red truck and looked at tractor implements. Actually washed and dryed some clothes. Trimmed some limbs at my Mama's, straightened up a bonfire pile and stacked limbs. Ate dinner with her. Hosed off, put on my glad-rags and some smell-well and went to Laurel. Plundered through Lowe's for some new appliances and shelfing stuff, saw some very interesting things called stainless steel ovens, not sure what they are for other than a wall mounted fireplace but they are very expensive. Had one Bailey's and coffee at Applebee's, not much work there. Went to Walmart to pick up some gardening things and just when I finally got all that junk in the buggy and to the check out counter they called a BOMB THREAT and made everyone leave the building and held us hostage in the parking lot for about an hour. Nothing blew up and we were all glad about that. Late night Waffle House 2 egg breakfast to console myself still thinking about my gardening stuff in the shopping cart at Walmart. Came home to get my nightly fix at MH. Money made today = 0. Fun (except for the deal at Walmart) = about 10.

My day has been grunt. I got my ears lowered at 10:30, the plans after that fell apart, so I've sat here trying to decide: Do I clean out my storage unit? Do I go the the Art Museum? Do I nap? Do I go buy tickets to the baseball game tonight, Greenville Drive (Bosox A franchise)? I've basically sat here and done absolutely zero except nap. I think I'm depressed. Oh well, the Braves are on TV tonight.

I've been through everything you are all talking about.....deadlines, lesson plans, crashed computers, taking up slack for those who always call in sick on Friday, and an overly obnoxious, know-it-all, holier than thou co-worker. Please, believe me, stick with it because retirement is worth all those rotten days. They are especially sweet since that obnoxious co-worker still has ten years until retirement, recently got reassigned to a position with no prestigious status, and was reprimanded for going over the supervisor's head. I remember drinking my first cup of coffe for the day as I dodged traffic in the morning rush...more got on me than in my mouth. Now, I enjoy my first cup sitting quietly in a swing on my front porch.
So, please don't give up. Keep your heads up and your day will come.

You're working with kids, right? As much as I want to whip some of those little punks some days, working with kids is GREAT! I'd much rather work with kids than adults....ANYDAY! Very rewarding....not always easy....but they will warm your heart when you least expect it.

yeah, and I went in to this thinking I'd be worried about my safety everyday... I have not for one second felt the leats bit uncomfortable with them though. Yeah, they've been in trouble- but they're still human, and they still deserve a chance to get back on the right track. I'd rather be doing this than working with adults! The kids are fun :) and I get to do arts and crafts! haha
I had the most awesome day. Big Saturday, always a big work day out here. One of the neighborhood kids has been working for me fairly steadily now, afternoons, Saturdays, etc. I have been noticing he doesn't notice hand signals very well and his attention is hard to get sometimes. I laid it off to just being a kid. Today I noticed he was missing a lot of grass that wasn't being cut. Again, the hand signals confused him, sometimes he would just stop. He said he wasn't seeing it all very well. I gave him a few basic visual type tests then gave him my glasses and asked him could he see any better, heck I didn't know. He said he could see everything great now. I was shocked, but I don't have a very strong prescription. I told him to get on the tractor we were headed back to the house. I pulled my last couple of sets of glasses out, I get two sets per prescription, washed them off and since the prescription was the same this time as before I asked him how he could see. He said he could see everything. I fitted them to him and we went back to work. He said he had a set but had broken them and wouldn't be getting any for a certain amount of time. He also asked me if he could take them home; I said sure now get your butt back out there and quit running over me! It was a monumental day ...

:) Sometimes I even surprise myself. I managed to negotiate with BCBS on a clients 57,000.00 medical lien to 6,000.00. :) Hooray for me! Then I turned around and got Medicade to go away for half of what they wanted on the case. Then got one doctor to waive his entire 34,000.00 outstanding medical. Now I'm working on some more! I figured while I'm on a roll - keep going with it! The client is going to love me, and hopefully my boss will compensate me rightly! Probably not. :)
