I find this intriguing (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18672314/) considering that the military has just decided to limit the access (http://www.suntimes.com/business/385365,CST-FIN-myspace15.articlehttp://) that troops have to blogs and sites like MySpace. I understand the security concerns, but one of the things we know about writing is that it helps us process the things (http://opinionjournal.com/taste/?id=110009420) that have happened to us and it helps us come to grips with our thoughts about things. Writing has also been shown to be therapeutic, and for a mental health system that is over-whelmed and unable to handle the demands currently being placed on it, it would seem that a little leeway could be granted.

I don't think the military is very concerned with being therapeutic. Your training people to kill without thinking upon command.

You think? I would have never guessed.
Perhaps, though, given the number of vets coming home with real problems, it's time for the military to start being concerned with it.
Edited to add a link to an article (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/05/10/BAGIFPOG7Q1.DTL&type=politics).

Well, I'm not sure they can afford to. If you go into a war, your going to come home with problems. That's just life I think. War is just so much different than anything anyone has ever experienced.
