Second Life should seriously get their own in-game police or have everyone sign a waiver before getting in the game. This kind of stuff happens all the time in Second Life. In other games, you get things stolen, and have other things happen to you, but only the weirdest of weird report any of that to the police. You report it to the people your paying money to, to play.

Wait...what?!? I'm not a fan of those games, nor do I play them. Can someone who is familiar with them explain this to me? They're killing characters in games? I'm assuming when I throw a banana at someone on mariokart and they hit the wall it's different! :) However, I don't know much about WOW....please explain for the laymen!! :)

No, these guys steal your banana, then cause your cart to break down.

lol, exactly!!!! :) but seriously...what is the deal with those games? I've heard a little about them, but why is it so serious?

Wait...when you say cause the cart to break down...what do you mean? I really feel stupid to the subject!! :)

Well, in online games they give you more ability than your regular home game, basically. They try to make it like real life.

Real life? So people actually steal and physically hurt others? Sorry, just trying to understand! :)

So this is silly to ask I'm sure, but why does it matter if your game character "dies" or something else bad so to speak happens?

I know two guys that ended their friendship over Everquest. Granted, it was probably a shaking friendship to begin with. One guy "died" in game and the other guy looted all of his stuff. he was really into the game and played it all the time, so he had vested a lot into his character and then to have a friend do that to you made him really mad.

I'm sorry I guess it doesn't make sense to me...what is the true value that someone can lose in the game?
