Ok, my day didn't start out to well. First thing that happened was the 2 bulbs that I just replaced in my trailer lights were blown. Made a quick trip to autozone for new ones. Replaced the bulbs and found everything to be ok so far. So me and the wife begin our few hours of quality time together dreaming about the big bass we were about to catch. After making the 40 minute drive we are finally there. I walk around to put the plug in the boat and.......wait....where's the plug. I know it's here because I took it out last time and I always put it right there. Ok, a squirrel had to have stolen it because I never misplace things (don't ask my wife about that one). Ok so there's no plug and we didn't drive all the way over here for nothing. So here's a quick fix-it in case you lose the boat plug. Get a big fishing cork, drive it into the plug hole and put a screw in the hole of the cork to make it tight. As you have probably figured out by now I have been known to lose a boat plug before. So, anyway got the boat launched and we're ready to fish. Time to make the trip across the lake. Oh Crap the motor won't accelerate. Not surprised at this point. Hmmm maybe we should have gone home. Oh well, nothing a few fish won't fix. We fished for 5 hours and caught 2 fish. Of course they were 8 pounds each.....NOT! Weren't even keepers. I used to catch alot of fish at Turkey Fork, but lately the fishing there has been terrible. I don't know what the problem is. So that's my fishing report for today. Two new bulbs, a lost plug, a motor that needs maintenance and a wife who hates fishing at Turkey Fork.

Yeah, Turkey Fork is a great lake to go spend the day just to ski, etc., but it seems like it's fished out to me. In the 5 hrs we were there, I think we only had about 5 bites.

Sorry to hear that the fishies weren't biting today. But hey, it was good quality time together and you weren't at work. Thats what I always remind myself when my stringer is empty.

Pirate, yeah that's exactly what we said at one point. It was nice to be out there enjoying the beautiful weather. :) I love being out there around dusk, when everyone has gone home and the water is like glass. It's so quiet, so calm, so relaxing, and so pretty.

Yeah it's nice and relaxing being out there, but it's so much better with a few fish on ice. Oh well, I always think of it as making memories anyway. I just enjoy saltwater fishing better in the summer months. The fish seem to be much more active.

I hear that's a nice lake, and that the fishing was good at one time. That is the one over at Sand Hill, right? I thought about going over and camping and fishing, but if they ain't no fish there, I ain't going.

Yes, it's in Sand Hill. It is a very pretty place and would be a great place for camping and somewhere to run your boat & ski. My hubby swears there are fish there, but we can't seem to find them! LOL!

Give a man a fish & he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish & he'll spend the day in a boat drinking beer.
