Every late spring, it forms 12 miles off the Louisiana coast and lasts for months: a sprawling, lifeless band of water known as the dead zone.

Holy smokes!!!! Call out the...........well don't quite know who to call on this one. Anyway, it seems to me that ethanol is more trouble than it's worth. I read somewhere the other day that due to the fact corn is a "staple" in mexican diets there have been problems with corn shortages in Mexico. I also read that ethanol will eat a fiberglass gas tank and rust a metal one since it's an agricultural product. Now everyone is wanting to produce corn for the profits and are abondoning the other agricultural products. This will likely cause shortages in other farm raised foods soon.

They'll blame it on global warming next. And then, on big SUV's.

I went through an area of the ms sound this weekend that was full of dead fish. At first I thought it might be shrimp trawlers but after l looked closer at the fish they were all the same species and all abought the same size. Strange????
