I left the hub city Friday evening bound for Jackson and the 20th annual Jubilee! Jam music and arts festival, held in downtown Jackson. Had tickets for both nights, but some type of alcohol incident precluded me from attending the Friday night show.
Saturday dawned typically hot and muggy. Gates opened at 2:00 and bands kicked off at 3:00.
JESSE ROBINSON 500 POUND BLUES BAND hit the stage at 4:30 and played some really good blues. Then the group RED, who had a very progressive hard rock theme to their music. Then the meat of the festival, in my opinion, with PUDDLE OF MUD, BREAKING BENJAMIN and THREE DAYS GRACE closing it out. a really, really great show. All three of these groups rocked the house with their own hits, but each also covered some tunes by ALICE IN CHAINS, NINE INCH NAILS, and NIRVANA. BREAKING BENJAMIN'S front man, Benjamin Burnley, joined THREE DAYS GRACE on their cover of the NIN, Hurt, all in all a really great show. The weather held out well, hot as all get out, but thankfully no rain. Then to the strip clubs for the Danny's $20 all you can drink and watch boobies night, which is another review.
Anyone else go see the show?
