Minneapolis - What's to do there?

I'll be spending four days in Minneapolis pretty soon. The Twins are out of town that weekend, so no baseball for me. What else is there to do, see, and eat in Minneapolis?

I never knew much about the area but in the last couple of years I have gotten really hooked on the John Sandford crime novels. Apparently the area is full of anything you can shake a stick at.

I've never been to Minneapolis but I understand the IDS Center/Marquette Hotel (710 Marquette Avenue) is the site of the famous Mary Tyler Moore hat toss in the opening credits of her 70s sitcom.

Being a fan of popular culture, I'd like to go there (and toss a hat in the air). :)
