Here's an interesting article (http://www.comcast.net/news/strange/index.jsp?cat=STRANGE&fn=/2007/06/18/692814.html&cvqh=itn_courthouse).

A strange image captured by a surveillance camera at the First Judicial District courthouse downtown [Santa Fe, NM] has left sheriff's deputies, lawyers, clerks and judges scratching their heads.

The video shows a bright spot of light coming from either the roof or near the courthouse's back door. It moves toward the west across the front bumper of a parked police before leaving the frame.
Perhaps the most bizarre part is that the light appears to cast shadows.

So, do you believe in ghosts or spirits or any of that stuff? Why, or why not?

I personally don't know if I do or not. I've never had an experience to convince me that there are spirits around us, but have had friends who had experiences that were convincing.

A bright white light that exits the back of a courthouse and leaves shadows? That's not a ghost, mon cher', that's Lady Justice sneakin' outta town.:-D

Ghosts. Ummm. I never saw one, but . . . I did see something once, the night after my father died, in his darkened room. It was crouched, I suppose, in the corner - low in the corner - and all I could see was its eyes. Almond-shaped and at a severe slant, hot coal red and hostile. I was frozen momentarily, thought for a split second that I couldn't move, that if I did, it would. Then I quickly went outside. I found out later that my 11 year-old-daughter had seen the same thing, only a short time earlier.

Ghost? Don't think so. This thing was beyond ghosts.

I think those ghost chasers are hoodooing us. I don't believe in ghosts. I do, however believe in UFO's and life on other planets in other galaxies. I don't however know how God is involved in all of it. That's puzzlilng to me.I don't let it shake my faith. Just something to be answered later.

There is a scripture that speaks of other worlds. I don't remember if it was the old or the new Testament or where it is at. Wheres TheDoc.....? Doc.....Can you find that please?

I am not sure if there are other Worlds as you say or not. We use the words 3rd world country so the Bible could have been meaning the same thing.

Not sure I really want to know.....And the only thing that the Bible says about Spirits is, they possessed people....never read where it possessed houses.

Yeah, but that thingy Sue and her daughter saw, freaked me out. I have a good friend. VP of a Bank, college educated.....saw a ghost sitting on his bed. I just don't believe they are real. tragic events might trigger strange brain functions. The brain is more complicated than all the universes, in my arrogant opinion. (Very little humble about me, eh?)

Doc's just going to ask Zorro for it, so might as well go straight to the source... Where's it at, Z.

Me, I believe in it. I've had experiences my whole life with other worldly things. I'm not sure what they are, or even if they're aware of us.

This story on coast to coast kinda lays it out like I believe:

This guy was driving this girl to a party somewhere in maine. She'd never been in the area before. but as they were going down one road, she screamed at him to stop. She said, "that's my house! that's my house!" He stopped the car in front of the house and she takes off running across to the front door. She rings the doorbell and this little old lady opens the door and gasps. the old lady is speechless. The young lady says, "I don't know why, but I feel like this is my home" The husband of the old lady comes to the door and gasps, too. "What's wrong?" Asked the young lady... "Why do I feel like this is my home... why do I feel like I live here?"

"You should feel like you live here," replied the old man... "you haunt this house."

The young lady often had dreams of living in this home, with kids. In fact, that's one thing she questioned when she saw the house was where are all the toys in the yard. She had dreams of descending the staircase calling for her children, and in the home, that's what the old man and woman witnessed.

Perhaps there's infinite parallel worlds, and in that one, she was married, with kids and living in that home. and somehow the two worlds bend enough together to be able to catch glimpses of one another.

Anyhow, the whole exercise leaves us with more questions than answers... which if fun for me.

Thanks that was a good read....kinda scared me. But one thought comes to mind.
Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version)

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

No. The parallel theory goes something like this:

There are infinite number of parallel worlds. In this one, I decided to respond to your post, in another, I decided to not respond. In one world, the lady was married with kids, in that home, in another, she saw the home and knew she lived there. They're going on at the same time... well, that is if time even exists, but that's another thread all together.

Does the Bible "believe"?

I'm not convinced the verses quoted on that website that Imapepper linked to (I John 4:1, among others) are being interpreted correctly. The message at our church this past Sunday night was on that particular passage, and if you read it in context, it is referring to how to identify the "false teachers". The word "spirit" in that verse is not the same thing as we mean by ghost, I don't think.

I don't want to get into a big debate about how to interpret the Bible. I am just wondering if that is what you are basing your claim that "the Bible believes" on, or if there are other things in the Bible that talk about it that I don't know about.

I was in a funeral home recently at the wake of a dear friend. The lady that works at thr duneral home was talking about "their ghost". This kind of thing totally fascinates me, so I asked her to tell me a little about it. She says that their ghost was one of the former owners & that she likes to turn lights off & on, play with the elevator, & turns the water faucets on. She is a friendly ghost, nothing malevolent about her. I wish that TAPS would come down here. I know of a house out in Jones Co. which is haunted by the murdered victim who once lived there.:smt118

Dream1, "Ghost Hunters" come on on Wednesday night. The new episode will air at 8PM our time. They show re-runs from 6 to 7. Sci Fi channel has been changed to 24 if you have cable. It used to be 68. You should have seen the one where they spent the night in the "Stanley Hotel" in Colorado. They filmed it LIVE on Halloween night! Also, the one where they film at the St. Augustine Light House in Florida! Just last week they were in England & they got some cool footage from that! Talk about creepy! It will be coming on tomorrow night, so don't miss it! :)

Tragic events can certainly trigger strange things in an individual, no question. The thing that has remained with me for over twenty-five years is: How is it that I saw what I saw, independent of my young daughter, who saw the same thing - described it identically - and told her grandmother about it before I'd heard the story or saw that . . thing . . . myself?

There is no question in my mind that something was in the corner of that room, and that it was not friendly. Why was it there? How? What did it mean? I don't know. I could almost feel this thing breathing. Not "hear", but "feel."

Do I believe in "ghosts" ? No. I can't say the same for whatever it was that I saw. Someday, one day . . who knows, maybe it'll dawn on me.

Oh, I think it's too coincidental for both to have seen the same thing at two different times in the same place for it not to have some validity. That's what freaked me out. Was it real? Dunno. Was it mental telepathy or something between you and your sister? Dunno. But I'd rather forget completely about it before bedtime.
