COLUMBIA, S.C. — Autopsies were scheduled Thursday for a naked couple that died after falling about 50 feet from the roof of a downtown office building.

Police on Wednesday said their deaths were an apparent accident. Clothing was found on the roof and authorities said the couple may have been having sex.

The victims were identified as Brent W. Tyler, 21, and Chelsey A. Tubleston, 21, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said. The coroner previously said the couple were students at the University of South Carolina, but on Thursday a school spokesman said they were not currently enrolled.

Tubleston attended the Columbia campus in 2005-06 and Tyler attended the Beaufort campus during the same period, university spokesman Russ McKinney said.

The couple were found in the road by a cabdriver about 5 a.m. Wednesday. They were pronounced dead at Palmetto Richland Hospital, police said.
