A car dealership calls in an order to draw attention to cars for sale. A Realtor makes the same call to draw attention to an open house sign.

What are they after?

Helium-filled balloons.

Many professions hope the orbs will catch your eye, but such a sight might be a thing of the past as available helium seems to be scarce and prices of the gas are rising.Story. (http://www.theledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070507/NEWS/705070369/1039)

I just found out about this today 'cause I was needing some helium to fill some balloons. It seems that you're limited as to how many helium-filled balloons you can buy.

Maybe I can buy one shaped like the Hindenburg and have it filled with hydrogen.

The last great American Panic before this was War of the Worlds.
