"The Incident Is the Latest in a String of Bear Attacks
Chris Everhart just had a Father's Day he'll never forget.
The ex-Marine saved the lives of his three young sons when a 300-pound bear attacked their Georgia campsite last weekend. "

That is one bad dude. I wouldn't want to get into a "my dad is cooler than yours" argument with those boys!
"My dad can pick me up with one hand!"
"My dad killed a bear with one hand!"
"Umkay. You win."

Before reading the article, I assumed he beat the bear over the head with the log.
Instead he threw it and killed him? Talk about bullseye. He's lucky he killed him because had he missed the story could have had a very different ending.

I read the story this morning and will have to look again.
First of all the rangers said he had not secured the campsite or made it bear proof. That is why they ticketed the man and for killing the bear.
The bear stole the cooler and was fleeing or running away. The father chased the bear down.
I just thought of Yogie and Boobbo Bear always raiding the campers' picnic goodies.
