From what Ive found so far online was that they were not shot or stabbed. I've got $5 hubbucks that says Kevin Sullivan (Nancy's ex-husband and former wrestler) was somehow involved.
How sad that a child was involved also. My first thoughts were murder/suicide. I will be interested in finding out what the coroner says. Anybody hears please post it.

The AJC has this:
"A well-known professional wrestler and his family were found dead inside their house in Fayette County Monday afternoon.
Authorities confirmed that Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their 7-year-old son, Daniel, were found dead at the home on Quarters and Redwine roads in Fayetteville about 4 p.m.
Officials were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
Benoit, a 40-year-old Canadian native maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling."

That's about all there was with respect to the current situation. Most of the rest had to do with his wrestling career and there was one mention that no one really knows if he was having marital issues.

Currently on the WWE.com (http://www.wwe.com/) homepage, they are reporting it as a double murder suicide. Very sad and tragic! There are also several tribute videos on the homepage.

MSNBC is saying that they think he killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself Monday. I can maybe understand killing your spouse, but your child? That I don't understand. :(
He looked different in his younger years. Not quite so bulky. I think most of those guys use steroids to look like they do. There is no telling-we have to see the coroners report. It takes a sick individual to kill a poor innocent child. I understand the spouse in a crime of passion-but not a child.

Doc or anyone else in the know,
Isn't steriod use linked to violent behavior?

Didn't see XC9's post until after I had posted mine.
I have to check Nancy Grace out and see if there is anything on there about it. She is good about having current events on her show.

Talk about nagging. Get out of my face! Who could live with her for 5 minutes. I just want her to SHUT UP!:smt091
No gunshots or stabbing wounds. And it's "bizarre". Did he kill them with wrestling moves?

I'm guessing it was something ingested.

Strangled the wife, smothered the kid, hung himself. I wonder why he did it though. No word yet as to whether or not there was a note left behind.
Such a sad state of affairs. I always enjoyed watching him compete and perform. Very amazing athletes.
There have been rumors but let's give him the benefit of the doubt among those that are flying to see what comes of it. And if it is less than what we want to hear, understand the demons that beset humans.
The only difference in a laugh and a cry is the arch of an eyebrow.
You know Doc, I never saw those outbursts that you mentioned and I thought particularly in that direction in the last two days. I see some of the others do it but I have never noticed any of that in him.

More information (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19468182/) on what happened.
I know that raising a special needs child is difficult, and his son's condition might explain why Benoit killed him too, but still... :(

One of the things I heard was that someone in the area was trying to start a Fragile X support group and contacted the family a few tears ago to see if they wanted to join. Benoit apparently did not want anything to do with such a group and sounded like he really didn't want anyone else to know his son had it.

This article (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime_file/2007/06/27/2007-06-27_tiny_son_got_illegal_boosts.html) says that the boy may have been getting HGH treatments.

I think I can understand that. Back when I was in education, learning about special education, we read about piece that was entitled "Welcome to Holland (http://www.pitara.com/parenting/special/needs/online.asp?story=4)". Getting used to the idea that your child isn't going to live the dream you had for them is very difficult. Maybe with time he would have come around, gotten used to, come forward. If he was giving his child HGH, it seems that he wasn't quite accepting of the full ramifications of his son's problems.
I don't know.
