Hunting and fishing liscenses expired as of June 30th. Thanks to a new law that was just enacted as of July 2nd, liscense will now expire 1 calendar year from the time of purchase. So, no more last minute fishing liscense purchases in June for a fishing trip only to have them expire in a few days! I thought that was ridiculous that someone could actually buy a fishing liscense on June 30th and the suckers expire at midnight. Well, anyway I guess legislatures do occasionally pass a law that makes sense.

Yeah, I bought a salt water fishing license last Saturday that I was informed would expire the next day. I thought that was one of the stupidest things I'd heard in a while, but what option did I have? A one year license that expired in a day for under $6 was cheaper than a $500 fine plus $100 per fish (or so I was told). Of course, I would have only had to have paid $500, as there were no fish on board to be fined for...

True, but it was still 6 bucks and then you had to turn around and spend another 6 bucks on a liscense to last the entire year. STUPID is not even the word for it... I think the right attorney could have got a jury to see it as entrapment or something... I been watching too much CSI!:-D

Speaking of fishing licenses, F.Y.I. for anyone that has been declared "disable" you do not have to buy fishing license within the state.
Go to the social security office and tell them you would like to get credentials to show you are on disability. You keep that with you when you fish within the state; rivers, lakes or coast and you do not have to purchase fishing license. It saves you a little bit to buy bait with if nothing else. :) It is one of the few perks of being decrepid!
