WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.
Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.
The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed.
"Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said.

That's one of the sickest things I've ever heard of. It wasn't enough to rape and rob the woman, they had to degrade the family in the process.

I'm a big fan of the death penalty....those boys gotta go! Just reading that story pisses me off!
Stealing a car or pickpocketing someone's wallet I understand. But for the life of me, I will never understand crimes like this. Are they warped? Deranged? Crazy? Just plain stupid?

If the 'boys' were in MS and under 16, they would be sent to Oakley for , hmmm, 9 weeks. And the Dept of Justice, Southern Law Poverty Project attorneys, and DHS's Program Integrity would make sure they received all sorts of legal representation while incarcerated to ensure they aren't treated badly. Then they probably would be back home and on probation.................. Lesson learned? NO
I don't even want to get on my soapbox about how the punishment should fit the crime and how consequences should be meted out in public so there would at least be some deterrent effect on others contemplating ruthless, mindless acts......................

How on earth does this even occur to a bunch of kids in the first place?
Ugh :(
I've said it many times, and I'll say it many more--- Charge the parents. Lock them up WITH the kid.

This should get death. It doesn't matter about them being a minor. You don't walk away from something like this and go on to be a fine upstanding member in the community. You may appear that way, but years later they find out your the BTK killer. This family and that 12 year old is messed up for life. And he probably has a higher chance of going on to do crimes himself because of this.

It worked wonders for Papa Doc Duvalier of Haiti. He'd tie 'um to a tree in the market place and machine gun them. Leave them tied there as a lesson to be learned.

Of all the shocking stories about kids and teens committing crimes, this may be the most disturbing one I've ever heard.

This sickens my heart and stomach. The boys should be punished to the max - i.e. - the death penalty, but those boys' parents should be punished too! How did the boys get so warped and twisted in the first place. The boys are personally responsible. AND the parents are responsible for their criminal children as well.
