ENID (AP) — Detectives arrested a 12-year-old girl and her 10-year-old sister on a kidnapping complaint on Thursday after they allegedly abducted their neighbor’s 1-year-old son and held him for $200,000 ransom.
The criminals are getting younger and braver.

Ok- I'm going to need the stupid kid stories to stop now...WTF is going on? 11 y/o on a dui- 12 y/o and 10 y/o kidnapping- and some other punks forcing a child to rape his mother............I better keep my thoughts to myself now! :)
I'd like to know the same thing. I'd certainly know if my 13-year old daughter was getting drunk before driving to pick her sister up or if she was awake at 5:30 a.m. to kidnap the neighbor's baby. I just don't get it. These are kids, not pets. Why aren't the parents more aware of what's going on?

This one sounds like the girls may have been imitating something they had seen elsewhere. Definitely a "where the heck were the parents?!?!" situation, but I'd say there's a good chance in this case they aren't dealing with hardened criminals, just kids who did something monumentally stupid.

I know it's easy to ask, "where were the parents", but I can remember when I was a kid I snuck out of the house lots of times, although I didn't kidnap anyone. I snuck into girls' houses. They snuck out of theirs. I did all sorts of crazy things in the wee hours of the morning when everyone else was asleep.
Does every parent know for sure what their kids are doing at 5:30 in the morning, when the last time you saw them they were in the bed?

True, Wilebill. I guess I always think in terms of the houses my family has lived in where it would have been near-impossible to sneak out.

Excuse me for being simplistic here because I know how people like to over examine reasons, causes, etc.. for certain behaviors but lots of these kids need a good ole fashioned ass beating.
