It would be nice if it'd rain lightly every day for a couple of weeks. I mean, the earth is DRY. Once this recent stuff soaks up, we won't be much better off in the big picture, I don't think.

according to the news we are still like 9" behind. Put that on top of last year it was around 10" and the year before that was 10" if I remember correctly. I hate it when it rains, but I would rather it rain than everything dead again.

If you think we've had it bad...try being in North Texas right now. Since June 16 my hometown has gotten almost 11 inches of rain. There have only been 4 days since then that it has not rained, 2 of them being today and yesterday. Last I heard the lake was at 639.?? feet and the emergency spillway is 640 ft. it hasn't gone over since 1990 and before that it was 1957. http://www.kxii.com/

As long as it rains I won't get beetles in what is left of my pine trees. so they say. but I have ponds in my year now have frogs in them. I get serenaded every evening now. But I thank the Lord so far no hurricanes. I remember summers where we were doing rain dances we were so dry. the Lord send us what He thinks we should have. My sister in VA has no rain and parts of Alabama their gardens are drying up. The world is a mess. everyone have their golashes out? hugs :)

We were at a very critical point two weeks ago. The sprinklers had to run a lot and some grass sounded like walking through frost.
Everything is green again now, there will be no herd sell-outs, steaks will not double in price, I don't have to constantly run the sprinklers and everything seems ok again.
I don't have all the lawn work done but it will get done, the roadways, etc are caught back up.
If you have any extra just send it up here.

I agree, I am not a fan of the rain.
