If this is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

How long's it been since the last fight with the AB?

Answer: Too long....

Aaron, can we get another inflammatory decree?

Aaron, can we get another inflammatory decree?

I don't think we can wait that long, ES. It'll take the Sanhedrin three weeks to write the bylaws that will establish a guideline to form the basis of the proposed wording of the document that recommends the language to be used in the inflammatory degree, subject to quorum.

Well...in that case, I'll just settle for an unjustly deleted post....

You guys are great....

You know, I looked up Ezekiel... that passage is not in any bible I've yet read.

Doc, so, from what I understand you're saying, is that you know which context Jesus is using based on the message you feel the Bible is there to deliver... is that correct? Meaning, that since you believe(and others) that Jesus came for all men, that he must have meant it in a non-literal sense. Is that correct?

I didn't read the Left Behind books myself, because I have issues with some of the theology involved, but I appreciate that they were meaningful to other Christians -- one size does not fit all!!

i for one do not believe in a pre trib rapture that the Left Behind books have and the spiritual outpourings that would happen... i believe that's happening now...

timforjesus
07-13-2007, 11:35 AM
there are no scriptures that suggest WHEN the rapture is going to happen... no man knows the hour... but you can know the season

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

Isa 62:6 On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest,

the watchmen who cry out to God day and night not only watch for danger they also proclam to the people that the king is coming for not even those watching knows when the king is coming... they just know that he is by watching the signs of the times...

Joe 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

the last days promise an outpouring of God's spirit which is happening all over the world even as we speak...

Act 15:16 "'After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it,

a restoration of the 24/7 prayer and worship that was prominent during King David's day which i believe is the House of Prayer movement that i am a part of...

if we are to watch then we don't know when exactly it's going to happen.. may be pre trib, post trib, mid trib... i'm under the impression that tribulation and fire purify a bride to be pure and spotless... that's just my theory

timforjesus

in my opinion we are WAY off topic...

timforjesus
07-13-2007, 11:39 AM
cool...i have heard of that book and the author and i'm told it's legit but i have never read it myself now back to harry potter if you please before we are reported...

I didn't mean to get us off topic, and frankly I don't want to get into a big discussion of the rapture, etc. Please remember that I am Anglican, which is essentially Catholic without some of the 19th century dogma, and with a stiff dose of 16th century Protestantism thrown in. I was using the LB books as an example of how, like Narnia and HP, books can speak to one segment of Christianity and not to another. I once had a dear Christian friend tell me she thought C.S. Lewis's writings were "occult."

C.S. Lewis is what i would call a Philosophical Christian.. he is a thinker and his writings are awesome.. The Screwtape Letters is good... Mere Christianity is a good read too

CB... i appreciate it all... just as i don't like to be ganged up on let's not do the same thing here to CB... he has his beliefs and has just a right to be as radical or as laid back about them as anybody else in here... I understand that in the last few days i've ruffled more than a few feathers in here and that doesn't surprise me in the least... i'm a Molotov cocktail sometimes and it's not the first time i've generated alot of controversy and i'm not at all insulted by the attacks... it encourages me... besides if everybody liked me... i would have to worry about where i stood as a Christian... when it came to Christ... there was no middle ground... they either loved him or hated him... and those who were in the middle didn't spend that much time with him... not to say i love it... but i am encouraged by it too... not sure how that's going to sit with you guys... but lay off of CB... he's cool
You'll have to learn the hard way, Tim. Probably the best way to learn anyway.

i don't care how he believes... if he wants to try to make a mockery of Christians he just joins millions of people that have been accumulating throughout over two thousand years... and how have we persevered... by God's system... i know CB's type... i've seen them all... and fighting the world's fire with the world's fire doesn't work at all... but fighting the world's fire with the fire of the Holy Spirit.... that always works.. maybe not when you want it to... but it does and it always wins..

Dollfus, Dr. Michael Chang is a guy who wrote a book. I don't hold him or the book he wrote in high regard. In fact, as I've grown to learn more, I side less with things he laid out in the book. But, the book did open my eyes and help me make the step away from Christianity.

Whatever you say. You listed him and his book as having a particularly special influence in starting you on your spiritual journey. I, naturally assumed you held him and his book in high regard.

Guru, are you serious? You think Satan took over the thread? Did Satan have anything to do with the splitting of the church at Temple? You think Satan is so powerful he's allowed to work his plan and not God's?

Where in the world did I mention, allude to or even acknowledge Satan. You pulled that out of some dark place where the sun never shines. A guru is a spiritual leader. I figured if Chang started you on your spiritual journey he must be a spiritual leader to someone.

I haven't attacked anyone's beliefs. A question is not an attack.

Depends on the question and the manner in which it's asked. Can very well be an attack.

lol sorry - no kiddies or toddlers around the gambling area - when kids would come in there - security would be all over the parents - if you do have kids and you're going to a restaurant or out back - keep moving; don't stop.
