Don't mess with the guys in the election thread. This is how MyHattiesburg got its start. I enjoy reading what goes on in those forums.

I never introduced myself on this forum when I started posting over two years ago. I don't think it's all that important. Basically, the introductions generally go something like this:

Newbie:

"Hi, I'm ________. I've been reading for a short / medium / long time, and have finally decided to post."

20 other people:

"Welcome!"

So if TDB goes out and gets all 22 people who will vote for him to sign up for MH and all they do it post pro-Beavers and anti-Fillingane rhetoric, you'd be fine with it?

I say let him have at it. If anything it will ultimately cost him votes rather than winning votes for him.

I'd love to see it happen, actually.

This has nothing to do with introductions, but bear with me. I wish the election threads would stay on-topic to that particular election or county races.

For example, I am tired of seeing posts for the 101 race pop up on the Lamar County thread. Now, I realize Lamar County (most of it, anyway) is in the 101, but there is a separate thread for the legislative races.

Is it too much to ask for them to at least introduce themselves? You get that message before signing up (i.e., an encouragement to introduce yourself).

I didn't. :smt118

Ditto.

Doc, it will be okay. :) Let them have their fun, August 7th isn't that far away and then the serious ones will stay and the others will leave.

Hey Doc, You reckon they may have introduced themselves originally before they got all their aliases and didn't think it was important that each alternate "personality" introduce itself automously? (ever how you spell it). :smt118

Yeah, I think you're confusing Shawn O'Hara and Dale Beavers.

It's easy to do; they both have the same political aspirations, engaging personalities, and chances of winning their respective races.

I hope that I haven't offended anybody in any way, and I did go and introduce myself, but I haven't been very vocal about many things......yet.....
