View Full Version : Favorite weather websites
Hawkeye and I were looking at weather websites the other night and talking about a few of them. He had several really good ones.
This is a little thread so you can paste your favorites in here. I love looking at different ones.
Here is one you may really like. It shows the Eastern part of Louisiana and shows Mississippi from Oxford down to the coast along with the Western part of Alabama. I have no idea why they didn't add another inch to it and show the most Northern part of the state but it's a really good radar site.

I've looked at a bunch of them, but I still prefer Intellicast (http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/OneKm.aspx?location=USMS0152&animate=true&enlarge=true). I like their regional radar loop because it seems to give more detail than a lot of the other sites. It's also easy enough to move to another region to see what the weather is doing there.
They've got some real handy and good links to the left in the sidebar that gives some good info like yesterday's radar loop, precipitation totals, etc.

I use Weather Underground as my primary for local and site specific; Intellicast for regional (like the loop feature on both & the zoom on wunderground)

For fishermen, especially offshore, NOAA, NWS New Orleans, and Wilkens Weather give lots of info, wave heights, forecasts, tides, etc.
Realtime Streamflow Mississippi covers all the rivers in the Pearl River, Leaf, Pascagoula basins plus Mississippi River - good info!

I use this one:

and the one Guru listed and NWS. I'm a weather site junkie. ;)

wunderground is good but if you like raw data...noaa is where its at...but you damn near have to have your degree in meteorology to accurately navigate it
