I know this is not suppose to be funny but OMG!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: I can't help it. I am just so glad I have not had this to happen in our house.

Criminy. I would have to beat the puppy if she did that. As it is, last night I thought she was chewing on a tennis shoe when really she had her head on the tennis shoe and was chewing on her nylabone. Reminded me, though, to put the shoes away so even if she wanted to chew on them, they wouldn't be available.

My dog ate my grandmothers bible. I don't mean he chewed on it, he ate & I assume digested all but a few scraps. I hope this doesn't mean he's going to doggie hell.

I know Fuzzis I have made that mistake before. Right now though I am have a hell of a problem with her jumping on the guest!!! It has gotten to where I have to put her in another room. Some people don't mind most do and so do I. I love dogs but I don't like dogs jumping up on me...EVER!!!
58ford Gees I doubt it! Just means he got a Colon cleansed spiritually LOL!

When dogs jump on people they tend to pet them or at least make physical contact, which is positive reinforcement for the behavior. You have to give your dog some neg. reinforcement immediately when they do this, do not touch the dog, give it a light but unpleasant smack, and/or point at the floor & give a forceful command "Down!" You must do this immediately (dogs have a very short attention span & if you wait more than a few seconds after the event they won't understand why they're being punished) and do it consistently, don't let guests say "it's okay, he's not hurting anything" You must train him to obey you for his own good.
Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

How can you fault a dog for getting into the toilet paper? All he/she wants to do is wipe his/her butt!:)

Actually, my cat will do that if I go away too often. To keep that from happening too often, I usually remember to close the bathroom door when I'm not home.

OK Tillie knows OFF and down which means lay down and obeys them but I need her not to do it to began with. That is the problem. My dd is starting to dislike her. She is dressed for work and gets doggie prints on her clothes from being jumped on. NOT good! DD gets very mad!!!

The only time Cobbler jumps up is if she's really excited or if she wants me to take her out. A few good pops to the nose have cured that problem.

Putting your knee in her chest works and say, "No". Doesn't have to be loud, just firm.

Okay how about this, we have a rather large back yard and there is not grass we are in the process of growing the grass so it is always sdusty in the house. There are 3 dogs that live with me they constantly break into the house and tear everything up. I mean whatever they can destroy they will do it. I am extremely irritated and want to tie them to a tree and jsut let them sit there i just do not know how to discipline them to where they will quit. I have also tried to barricade them out of the house but the little sh** of a dog keeps on breaking in .

Crate? Build them a dog run?
PeteDog eats firewood and posts. I hate to think of him being alone in the house. Just imagine all those doggie parties, drinking doggie beer, smoking doggie cigarettes, all that loud doggie music and crazy dancing. I can't think about that I tell you, I JUST CAN'T!!!

They make crates to accomodate large animals but they can be a bit pricey.

Your dogs can't be contained in one of those chain link fence dog run things? :smt102

Well our back yard is huge and actually it's not the great dane that gives us the problems it is the little puppy. and the other dog is just too retarted. My roomates just never trained the dogs so they do not listen very well

Put their butts in Training School and get them under control now while you still can. If you dont you will have H#LL to pay when they get older.

I built my dog's crate out of goat wire & scrap plywood. Cost about $2.
I still got a roll of goat wire in the back yard if somebody needs some.
