I was in Utah for a coupla' weeks during the prime harvest for alot of the stuff I grow,so I missed out a little, but I'm currently re-planting a second run of a few things. We canned 13 pints of dewberry syrup this year, and froze fourteen gallons of berries.Picked and froze ten gallons of blueberries, but haven't had time to can any.Put maybe 150 blanched tomatoes in the freezer to cook and can salsa with later.I looked for new tomato starts all week,to no avail. If anybody knows where I can find some, please hip me to it.I've frozen a ton of jalapenos, tobasco, and sweet peppers, again,to be canned when I have more time......the pepper plants have been good to me this year. This weekend,I'll blanch/freeze eggplant.

I just finished putting up a mess of okra! Hardly any more room in my freezer after we put up corn last month! I'm like you, Hawkeye, I don't like doing the cream corn thing--even though I love to eat it. I usually get tired and just put up ears.
FYI: I sealed my ears up in the new freezer wrap that you can press the edges of and then put in freezer bags. I'll let everyone know come December if it makes a difference.
My mother-in-law, bless her soul, canned our tomatoes for us and green beans. I prefer to sweat over the pickin' rather than the canning.

I missed out on cucumbers this year and didn't get any Bread and Butter pickles made- any one know where I might find some canning cucumbers?

My maters are gone as well, so I would love to find a source to buy some good tomatoes.

I have already rooted and planted my fall tomatoe plnts but the dang stinkbugs are eating them up- and they just laugh at seven dust- any suggestions there?

Hawkeye, I haven't tried to grow broccoli or cauliflower down south yet, but I know that they do great in Alaska in the summer... Along with zucchini, carrots, cabbage, potatoes and pumpkins...
