How delicate the thread that is attached to man as he hovers between Heaven and Hell.
It's amazing that there are so many strands in the make up of something that is called upon to keep us suspended in so many situations and at the same time be as unobtrusive as one single string of a spider's web.
Faith, acts, choice, thoughts, acceptance, doubt; all woven into one.
As I look at the hand's of my newly born neice, pink and fresh, and then of my own, wrinkled and scarred, I see possibly what life may hold in store for her.
Like a timeline, a sequence of events, our hands; and whose to say how either of us will be able to use these to hold on to that tiny thread that both suspends us in our journey and circumscribes our soul.
I find that the thread often finds a notch within the creases of my hands, cutting and biting into the flesh to maintain my grasp.
Original wisdom had it been there would have let my mind tell me to wrap my hands in loops around the thread in the beginning rather than hold it loosely in a more daredevil fashion.
Let the grip of the thread cut deep to hold me until my time here is over.
