Took the wife out for her first speckled trout fishing trip on Thursday. We caught a few but for some reason the specks were hitting really weird. I bet we lost 15 keepers which just simply came off!!!! It was nice to get out though. We did end up with a few specks and a couple of flounder and I think the wife enjoyed it.:p

I betcha she did. It was a full moon last night. Does that have anything to do with fish behavior? Helps seeing, for sure

I did enjoy our trip, even though it felt like 100 degrees out there. Any other time I've been the wind blew us away, but this time it wasn't blowing at all and was rather stifling.

I did get some sun, catch a few fish, and I got to spend some time with my sweet husband. Thanks for all you did to make it a nice trip for me. :)

Great!! I hear they're pretty fierce though, especially at certain times of the month. :smt103

i caught a lot of firsts this weekend myself! specks, ladyfish, and hardhead cats! couldn't keep ANY of them though cause either they aren't fit to eat or weren't legal.... i did catch 2 that were legal, one came off the hook, and one flipped out of the boat. :-( will post some pics soon!
