I posted a question about getsaved.com a while back and it's effectiveness. Now I'll pose a different kind of question. What about mission work in virtual worlds like Second Life? In an environment where you can reach thousands, if not millions, of people. People that may or may not be in this country. That may or may not have access to a church. The author of this article (http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/commentary/alttext/2007/08/alttext_0801) takes a jab at it, but has anyone here heard about any churches thinking about mission work in virtual worlds?

I think it could be viable in Second Life just due to the nature of the program. It really tries to be an actual world and everything is up to the users. In a more structured virtual world, like the kind that exist in online games, I can see anyone trying this getting hit with the banhammer pretty fast. If you aren't there to play, you aren't wanted.
