Great Gestapo this moderator crap has gotten out of hand. Good way to stiffle the heat of debate and stop the free flow of information.

If anything, Election threads involving public figures should enjoy MORE defference when it comes to allowing derogatory comments. It is well settled that public figures are owed a dimunitive level of protection from slander... especially when compared to that of a private individual.

Interesting how the discussion is often allowed to filter into the gutter in all other threads, unless it is so aggregious that our esteemed administor is notified. Btw-this is not a knock personally against you, Aaron. It just seems arbitrary to choose election threads over all others for this silly moderation.

Because I have a right to?

I just posted it as a point of information, not to discuss the candidates or anything like that. I guess if aaron - the admin, or SMTV - the MH Council, wants to trash it or move it they can.

Geez noway, you managed to get your knickers all in a twist just cause TDB didn't get an endorsement from NFIB? Say what you will but your negative rep against wilebill is pretty transparent.

What about 104??????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????They didn't have anyone listed in 104, so I guess they're not endorsing anyone.

It's not as much about that as it is the fact that the election threads have devolved into nothing more than arguments and rumor. It's not informative for anyone trying to make an educated decision about a candidate. As I have said before, I'm unsure how to make the system better. How to make it more informative for visitors that want to find out where the candidates stand on issues, and what qualifications they have for the job.

I guess I am not sure I understand why it needs to be educational??? While I totally agree that some folks got pretty ridiculous (I believe 6th graders is what I compared them to), it seems those who really stepped over the line could have been handled in a more direct manner. There have been many forums on here about matters of public interest, lest we forget the last H'burg mayoral race, issues with the administration, police department, etc., which were certainly at times one-sided, erroneous. and downright ridiculous. Yet I don't remember any action to end those discussions. Is it the role of MH to educate the voter or is it, as the word forum implies, a place for discussion and debate? I for one miss Darth's predictions's and would love to here what he has to say about the election at this point.

It needs to be because the site needs to be useful to people. Political satire is a necessary break from how serious some people are, but that was only a small part of those threads. As it was, I felt as though there were just a few people in those discussions to push an agenda, and the rest were just there to listen. The opinion that a candidate would be a fool to say anything here shouldn't be true. Basically, at this point, we're trying to regroup and find out the best way to handle these threads. Right now, it looks like the best solution may be a moderator specifically for them.

absolutely....I wrote one thing on here about having one case with TDB and how he handled that case and its correlation on how he would do in Jackson and it gets blipped by Aaron Beavers ...his long lost brother or cousin...or business partner...:smt102

The election is tomorrow? Lets start it right now... Somebody pm Darth Vader and tell him to post in the thread about nothing
