...heat Advisory Remains In Effect Until 7 Pm Cdt Thursday...
A Heat Advisory Remains In Place For Much Of The Ark-la-miss Through At Least Late Thursday.
A Combination Of Heat And Humidity Will Result In Heat Index Values Of 105 To 110 Degrees Wednesday And Thursday Afternoons As A Hot And Humid Airmass Remains Over The Region. In Addition... The Overnight Recovery Period From The Heat Will Be Limited With Most Low Temperatures Near Or Above 75 Degrees Again Wednesday And Thursday Mornings.
A Heat Advisory Means That An Extended Period Of Hot Temperatures Is Expected. The Advisory May Have To Be Extended Or Upgraded To A Warning Beyond Thursday. The Combination Of Hot Temperatures And High Humidity Will Create A Situation In Which Heat Stress Illnesses Are Possible. Drink Plenty Of Fluids...stay In An Air- Conditioned Room...stay Out Of The Sun During The Hottest Part Of The Day...and Check Up On Relatives And Neighbors.
there Are Indications That This Building Heat Episode Could Persist Into Next Week.

That's what I've got here and I'm in Yankeeland!!!!!!
Had exactly that idea myself. Hot Coffee creek has a bend in it with shallow cool water and little pea gravel, very clean. The beach is sorta white. If I could get my silly "don't like internal combustion engines" dog to ride down with me I would like to take a lounge chair and just got sit in that water.
Natural Sunshine
08-08-2007, 04:08 PM
I love to get a chair and sit in the creek....get some friends to go with ya and listen to some music or just nature and relax with a cold beverage!!!!
That sounds too good. Hot afternoon in a lounge chair in a creek with cool water, a little breeze, a magnum of Margaritas.
Natural Sunshine

That would be the best!!! Too bad I don't have a creek to go to right now!!!

Friend of mine managed a clothing store in NO. They had a guy at corporate who COULD not grasp that women in NO don't buy pantyhose in the summer and was constantly on her case about their pantyhose volume. She used to buy them herself to make the numbers -- for several years, everytime I looked up she was giving me pantyhose and knee-highs.
Got back from the store and and here to report that the parking lot in front of Corner Market is beginning to melt. Don't go. Eat leftovers.

I was thinking of what summer must have been like in say, the 1900's before deodorant, air-conditioning, and simple clothing. Imagine how nuns must have suffered, or any women for that matter, in all those skirts. My mom says that even when she was a child people didn't use deodorant, and you would get on the streetcar in the summer and about pass out from the smell of other people.

It is so hot that you can make instant sun tea outside. That one got me to laughin. I found these too. They are pretty funny.
How hot is it?
It’s so hot, your electric bill is higher than your house payment. … your washing machine dries and fluffs your clothes. … you can make instant sun tea. … the dog was chasing the cat and they were both walking. … your car overheats just sitting in the garage. … you cancel your Hotmail account because you hate the name. … you need a spatula to remove your clothing. … the best parking space is determined by shade instead of distance. … ice is on the endangered species list. … ducks in the park come in “original recipe” and “extra crispy.” … you’ve mastered the art of driving without touching the steering wheel. … birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground. … you’re sweating while you take a cold shower. …the Burger King crew said, “If you want it your way, cook it yourself.”

I went home to let my dog out at lunch today and noticed the house was a little warmer than it should have been. We recently replaced the fan on the condensing unit, so I went to look out the guest room window to make sure it was still working. Much to my surprise, some @#$%head had dismantled the unit and taken the coil. The repair guy says whoever it was probably spent a half hour in broad daylight taking the unit apart. Apparently, copper is quite valuable these days---I just wish I could have bargained with the guy given what the new unit will cost.
So, be thankful for your A/C, and PM me if you see anybody hauling a rolled up coil down the street.:smt022
