My hopes are that they marshal their resources and go after Russell Crowe. He did such a beautiful job in The Insider !

I wonder if there'll be a role in Mr. Scruggs' and Hood's Katrina-Insider movie for Russell? He gained a lot of weight to play Weigand, at least he won't have to go through that ordeal again, not if they cast him as Brownie. You think he could pull off playing Jim Hood? Nah. No Aussie could perfect a real Southern accent . .

Interesting stuff on the WSJ site. There are allegations that perhaps Judge Aker is too personally disaffected with Dickie Scruggs; that this is a clever, procedural way to lock up plaintiff counsel and have State Farm advantaged thereby; that the U. S. Attorney's office for that district refused Judge Aker's request to prosecute Scruggs for contempt (since he is entitled to the disputed whistleblower documents, under law), and so the judge appointed a couple of friends at the Birmingham Bar to do it for him.

Interesting stuff indeed.
