I was thinking today when I heard the news.. Steve is in his late 30's maybe 40.. I really think that with the new technolgy today you see more and more people getting their pipes cleaned out. Its nothing to play around with but you sure hear more and more of people going in to get the arteries cleanedout..

Yep, heart attacks happen to people of all ages...when Bee Line had his first heart attack he was in his mid 40's...wish he could have had a "roter-rooter" job done before his arteries got so bad...and he had his heart attacks. That is something I hope I never have to go through again! I wouldn't wish those circumstances on my worst enemy! Thank the Good Lord he pulled through.

Prayers are being sent for Steve's speedy recover.

I remember when Steve Taylor first came to this area, back in the early or mid-90s as the morning DJ on Rock 104. He looked and seemed older than me then, and I am 39. It doesn't really matter, the important thing is that he recovers. But I would be willing to bet he is around his early 40s. Either that, or he "packed on the years" early. Best wishes, Steve. Get well soon.:smt023

Yep, I believe so...I think both them and the HA get alot of their info from this site. There have been to many incidents where the news "broke" here, then a day or two later one or the other of the media would cover what was "old hat" at MH! :)

A close friend of Steve Taylor's forwarded this message to me. It's a message written by Steve to the community:

"To the folks at myhattiesburg.com,

As you know, I suffered a heart attack last week. Its happening at the age of 37 (in fact, on the evening of my 37th birthday) came as something of a shock in some ways. After many years of not dealing well with stress, eating too much and too many of the wrong foods, smoking, and various other means of shortening my life, it all finally caught up with me.

Thankfully, I was able to go home Thursday afternoon with the help of a fine group of doctors and nurses at Forrest General. I had a stent placed in my left circumflex artery, as it was 90% clogged. And, it's amazing how good one can feel when there's suddenly good blood flow through a major artery that has been degraded for the last ten years !!!

And then, I get home and get a note from a friend saying that there was a thread of good wishes on myhattiesburg.com. This was stunning to me, especially since the crowd on that board can be quite critical at times of not only me, but of the organization for whom I work.

However, after actually reading each post, I was very comforted by the thought that so many people that I did not even know were thinking so positively for me and my family (Susan and I are separated but remains very good friends). So, I have to send my thanks back for all those well-wishers.

I write this as I prepare to begin working again. I consider myself lucky, especially since there was so much positive working for me without my knowledge !!!

Just a note of appreciation to the people of myhattiesburg.com.

My best to you all,

Steve Taylor
Hattiesburg, MS."

Wow, I'm really glad that this thread has helped lift his spirits. I've always thought about starting a "flower fund" in case anyone here was in the hospital or sick for some reason. That'd definitely be going in the direction of what I'd like for this community to be.

oh yes aaron I think that is a grand idea and we can send for the members and the public and if someone is burned out of their home how nice would it be to give a family a gift card to wal mart or target for much needed things. We could even adopt a family for Chirstmas. I would love to help you in anyway that you might need me Aaron.

Hey Steve, that stress can do a number on you. Look for the sunshine in your day and do what your doctors tell you. Trust that something greater than you is handling the mega-stuff and do what you can with the small and medium things, all pieces of the puzzle will fall together. When life seems a little overwhelming, start with the small things one at a time and all the rest will fall in place.
