I always thought it a shame we didn't have better relations with an island nation that close to us. You know before Castro, Cuba was pretty much run by the Mafia; our's.

Heck, if Castro dies, someone in the U.S. may "buy" Cuba...be interesting to watch.

I read once that Castro tried out for the Cleveland Indians and he was a great pitcher in his day.Hey,if they wouldn't have cut him wonder what the world would be like? Cuba probably be a nice American State like they once wanted to be.

I watched national news several times today and I did not hear anything about Castro being dead...has anyone else heard anything?

It is still just a rumor and even if it is true his brother will probably just take over. I don't believe that there would be that big a change in the relationship between U.S. and Cuba. Rumor also has it that the brother is much worse than Fidel!

CAREFUL what you wish for....i fully agree Castro is not the "best situation" for the Cuban's, but think about this: What if Sadaam had just died of natural causes....the evil his kids would have projected would have made the world forget about him. What i am trying to say is: what do we really know about his brother?

Been watching national news and they say there's a rumor out of Castro's death and, as of 10 a.m., unfounded. They did note this could be caused because there was no public celebration of his birthday as in the past and also because of his ill health these past months.
