Juvenile prank? (http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070829/NEWS01/70829030)

A Taco Bell drive-through employee gave new meaning to the popular slogan “Run for the border” when someone tossed a snake at her through the restaurant window Tuesday night.
Hattiesburg resident Lyssa Prine said she and a friend were making a trip to the Taco Bell at 4908 Hardy St. around 10:30 p.m. After a lengthy wait in the drive-through line, they were told by a restaurant employee that the eatery was closing for the night because there was a snake inside.

At least they got the snake out of the restaurant before it made its way into a seven-layer burrito.

Or a chicken snake quesadilla. :-D

If they can make a movie about snakes on a plane...what's wrong with snakes making a run for the border.

Extension of the trend of throwing drinks at hapless drive through window workers?

Yeah especially if it was a chicken snake in the taco... that reminds me of a certain thread that a certain person posted on in the after hours section:smt118

It did happen. I heard it when it happened and my first thought was I would have had a heart attack. That was nothing but mean! I bet that poor girl will never work in a drive through position again. I know I wouldn't if it happened to me. I was shocked that animal contol actually came out in the night like that. A prank like that could have caused serious injury due to the panic of the employees. Not a good or nice idea.

That is an awfully mean thing to do to someone. However, I'm sure this will not be the last incident of this type to occur.

I think I would have either had a heart attack!!! I don't like snakes, and animal control won't find one alive if I can help it....Shoot it!!! Kill it!!! And they say that since it's not poisonous it won't kill you? Bull...Heart failure kills!!!

One Halloween, my wife and I went to about 10 different drive thrus playing the same joke. We'd order something, and when I handed the cashier my money, I had a small plastic roach that I'd give her with the handful of change. The employees got a laugh, the cashiers, except for one, got a laugh, and it was good Halloween fun! I still may do that again this year! It never gets old!

The paper stated the manager of Taco Bell said there was no snake. Why would he say that after the Animal Control came and retrieved it. He should have known it would be reported by the press. This should be known by the public. At this point ALL drive-through cashiers should be warned. I agree that we will now see copy cats of this same situation.

I think that the little **** that did that little stunt should be locked up! That is not funny in the least & someone could have been seriously hurt! Now what if a little copycat **** decides to throw a POISONOUS one???!:smt118

It won't be s funny when they close all the drive-thrus and you have to go inside. No more convenience.

While I feel for the girl in the window.. You do have to admit it is funny. lolWell - - yeah, me too. But I'm not afraid of snakes.
I'm one of those crazy people that are intrigued by their unique anatomy, physiology and behavior.
And, before ya ask :-D - I Do Not keep snakes as pets. They belong outdoors in their natural habitat.

I can kinda see the high spirits and humor from the perpetrators side -
But -
I'm sure that's far outweighted by the shock, trauma, fright and general running red-a$$ on the victims side of the equation.

In addition to the emotional turmoil, I'm wondering about the actual monetary cost of this asinine prank.

$6.00 an hour, my foot. These guys probably make close to what I make as a public school teacher.

Guess the guys who thought this prank would be funny are also the kind who reckoned firebombing that toll booth collector in New York would be a gas, as well.

I saw an add in the one on 98 one time and I think it said either 7.50 or 8.50 per hour... I was like damn... I can make a nacho bell grande in my spare time and be able to save up some money.

People do strange things. This reminds me of another bizarre incident that occurred a year or so ago in West Point, MS at a Holiday Inn Express when a guy walked in with a pig in his arms and threw it over the counter. The local press had a field day with the headlines. Fortunately no one including the animal was injured but the perp was arrested. Turns out he had done that before.

This story hit some national news also Rick and Bubba. Just the kind of thing Hattiesburg wants to be known for.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien

In Mississippi, a Taco Bell restaurant had to close after employees found a snake in the restaurant. Witnesses at the Taco Bell said it was the first time they’ve ever seen a snake with diarrhea.
Sen. Larry Craig is now rethinking his decision to resign. He says he’s going to talk it over with his wife and the guy in stall No. 3.
