The case was settled, and none of the parties are talking.
That is where you are wrong. It is coming up in court. "Bagel Guy" keeps postponing it.
Rumor has it, he has asked numerous times for the charges to be dropped, yet Officer Pitts and the police dept. will not do it.

What is this bagel thing all about anyway? Haven't heard anything about it....Did something happen at the Bagel Shop? This could be an interesting thread....A thread about Cops Roughing-Up a Bagle Shop Owner....hmmmmm......Somebody fill me in....maybe we can get some conversation going on this subject......

I vaguely remember us talking about this back when it happened, but not much was discussed....I've been waiting for the other side of the story, as we seemed to only get one side of the story back then.....

Sorry r13, I got flashbacks from being kidnapped by the MHLF. It has been a nightmare. You just don't understand the mental anguish that was deliberatly stowed upon me. I was kept hostage for weeks. Finally I was released with the promise of a Free Beer Friday at Donanelle's.
It's just when I hear the words Bagel Guy and Free the Bagel I go back to those days of being in that cold, damp, moldy, rat shack at the MHLF. I even had a bite taken out of me. It's been a tough ride.

The news was so quick to report on how unfairly he was treated, how come they are not reporting how he keeps continuing his case???!!!
Maybe the fact it was his personal friends at the HBA spreading the news about how he was beat up and so forth... yet once he realized he didnt have a case and was calling everyone he knew at the PD and begging for the case to be dropped, his friends at the HBA shut their mouth and were hoping the case would just go away.
People tend to shut up QUICK, when the realize they have no case... The police dept. never made a big deal about it, they simply sat back and were going to let everything play out in court... it was him and his friends that were writting letters to the HBA, posting videos online and so forth, which you are right, have all quit... wonder why? No case maybe? :laugh:
The answers will come out VERY soon. and I have a VERY good feeling, Bagel Boy will feel VERY stupid

Well being the PD isn't going to go on a message forum and talk about an open case, and have article after article run in the local paper about it... That is why you only heard one side of it.
UNLIKE Chris Hackbarth who called all his friends at the paper and had them write stories and post online talking down about hte situation, which if you notice has quit... wonder why? Maybe Mr. Hackbarth is afraid he has NO case now? I would think if he had a case, he wouldn't have postponed this one three times and put in a few requests for the case and charges to be dropped... HA
Once Hackharth quits postponing this case and lets justice be served, everything will go back to normal... With that being said... :zip:

So would a first year prosecuter. The video doesn't start till he's already committed whatever crime he is accused of and on the ground in handcuffs. The video doesn't mean or show squat.
If you see most videos of that sort on the news, that's the way they usually are. You never see ALL of the video, just the part that makes the cops look bad.

Well, yeah cops are all fascist pigs, who beat on the undeserving, and suppress the rights of the common man, they should be video taped and put on the news. Bagel guy has a case, and he's gonna make a bazillion dollars from Hattiesburg PD. Really, is it a crime to be drunk in public, or inciting a riot?

not in the law field but I live with someone who is. People have gotten off on less is the comment I heard but we all know the justice system is perfect.

ok, i am incredibly in the dark on this.... what did mr. bagel supposedly do? why is there an issue involving a bagel shop owner. did he switch a box of donuts with a box of bagels? seriously, i don't have a clue what is going on here.

A bagel shop owner was arrested by the police after he called in a call over 911.. It started as a normal thread that was eventually locked and sent a few mhburgers to time out. I had posted the link but it brings back old blood. Anyway the video on this thread shows some of what happened..
