9 dolphin circling the platform......these 4 were all close enough for me to capture in the frame of the digital camera.....

when cubby and i went down to Cocodrie we had some dolphins flirting with our shrimps. cubby thought he was goin' to get to catch one!

i have video of the dolphins circling us if i can ever find my digital camera....

6350 feet depth.....clear as can be. I can tell the difference in pontoon top and anodes.

SouthChic, it's DEEEEEEEP water. Off the Continental shelf the water is clear.

Yeah, 6350 ft deep.. I'd say so!! haha! I've never been out that far. ;) I've only been out as far as Cat Island and Ship Island, and Gonefishin tells me the water is beautiful like that on the other side of Ship Island. Maybe one day I'll get to see it. ;) Last time we were out at Cat Island, I did get to see some dolphins though. I love to watch them!

We're about 40 miles South of Chandeleur. The boats that come around this platform are usually no smaller than 32' and generally coast a coupla of hundred grand. I don't come out here either.....I'm like Gone, Cat Island is far enough, but my bride get's on to me cause the trip only takes us 11 minutes to the North side.

Yes, but they aren't a problem.....we call all employees indoors if they are about to hit us. Once the spout is split by hitting the platform it collapses.

Yeah the waterspouts can be a little spooky. I have been pretty close to a few out around Cat Island. Nice pic by the way.
