Phylis Canion holds the head of what she calls a chupacabra, or "goat sucker," at her home in Cuero, Texas, Friday. She found the animal dead outside her ranch and thinks it killed many of her chickens.

T-shirts? REally?

It is ugly, though. For some sick reason, the picture makes me laugh. Posing with severed dog head...that's so absurdly funny to me.

Strange. CNN had this story yesterday but the animal's head wasn't severed. The person who found it had the full body and was keeping it in their deep freeze.

Well check out these images (http://images.google.com/images?q=%22Chupacabra%22&num=20&hl=en&newwindow=1&rlz=1B2GGGL_enUS203US203&um=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=title). They say this is not a real creacher but a fairy tale.

well it's been a fairy tale up until now. If the animal they have is real and not the result of a talented special effects person, it certainly does fit the description of what people have been talking about for a long time.

I read the story and there were 3 of these found so we may have stories on more than the one with this older hunter lady???/

Here is what a vet said about the dog.

But what folks are calling a chupacabra is probably just a strange breed of dog, said veterinarian Travis Schaar of the Main Street Animal Hospital in nearby Victoria.

"I'm not going to tell you that's not a chupacabra. I just think in my opinion a chupacabra is a dog," said Schaar, who has seen Canion's find.

The "chupacabras" could have all been part of a mutated litter of dogs, or they may be a new kind of mutt, he said.

As for the bloodsucking, Schaar said that this particular canine may simply have a preference for blood, letting its prey bleed out and licking it up.Must Read?

It just looks like an ugly dead dog who has no body because it was chopped off. Dogs kill chickens.
