View Full Version : NFL Pick'em
We're going to be doing NFL picks week to week, with this being week 1.
Football isn't my strongest suit, so I'm depending on DannySheridan.com for my info. If I leave out a game that should be there, let me know and I'll do an add-on, but don't wait until right before the game starts. At least one day in advance would be great. We have to give everybody a chance to make their picks.
This week there are games on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. There will be a Pick'em event for each day. This is short notice for today's game (Thursday) but we're just getting started. Next week's will be up earlier.
All you have to do is click on Pick'em (http://www.myhattiesburg.com/forums/picks.php?) and that will take you to the games.
Thursday's Pick'em closes at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
Sunday's Pick'em closes at noon Sunday.
Monday's Pick'em closes at 6:00 p.m Monday.
Thanks!

Thank you for doing this, JMB. I know from personal experience that putting these games up can be a bit tedious and time-consuming at times, lol)
Wasn't too bad. :) We need to figure out where to post these...off-topic, vBookie, or sports.
I had planned on only including Sunday's games, but then I saw the Saints were playing tonight so I did a separate one for that, then I thought about Monday night football, and added that as a third to the Week 1 Pick'em. What do you think? In the future, should I do it this way again, put them all together on one, or only do Sunday games?

I think you should probably keep them separate because some people may want to pick Sunday games and if you have earlier games included, they may not pick them in time.

I'd vote for all in one too, it's not like vBookie where you need your winnings to turn around and bet again. I'm going to try to work on some type of stats this weekend.

This quote has prolly already answered my question, but are you talkin' about being able to see who is leadin' and loosin' the pick em' games?
Like who has most wins and losses. i am takin' it that you haven't configured a page where we can all go look at everyone else's.
FB, to the best of my knowledge, we can see our own but nobody else's.

Yeah, that's what I am talkin'
bout'. I can see mine, but not anyone else's. It would be nice to see who is leadin' the pack. I think that's what aaron was saying about puttin' the stats together. I dunno though:smt102

Yeah, me too. Kinda hard to know how bad I'm doing when there's nothing to compare to. Hopefully Aaron can wave his magic wand and get it to show that way. :)

I'm working on it, but running into mathematical problems. If anyone is a math major here and knows about standard deviations, algebraic equations, linear progression, and qualitative analysis, I could use some help.
