You listening to the scanner?
Just heard the fire was actually on the 2nd floor, but I am not positive where they are.

What freq. are you listening too? There are certain websites that actually map the repeaters, i.e., look for the repeater with the corresponding freq. and you'll know the general vacinity of the fire.
I made a mistake. It is on Arnold street, and it is an apt. building.

WOAH! You really have me confused. My scanner is trunking and It hits all of forrest county, h'burg and some of lamar. Not enough of Lamar to suit me though. That is why I bought a new one. Thinking I could pick up Lamar County now-I get very little of them and I hate it since I sit on the Lamar-Hattiesburg line. I live in Hattiesburg but am about 100 feet from the county line. So if I have a frequency what do I put into the computer to get the vicinity? :smt023

Since you probably will not see anything in the HB American.
The fire was at Federation Towers on N R Burger (off Arnold St.) The fire was in a second floor apartment. Your underpaid firefighters did an excellent job of evacuating residents and extinguishing the fire. There were a few residents given oxygen on the scene and checked by paramedics, none transported. Without the quick actions of the men of the FD this could have been a tragic fire.

Without the quick actions of the men of the FD this could have been a tragic fire. This is ALL true. They called for ambulances and assisted those with smoke inhalation. I heard them telling the firemen to make sure every apt. was emptied out and then the firemen helped an elderly lady out who couldn't walk very well. A job WELL done. Thank you H.F.D.

Federation Towers is a housing unit for seniors and maybe a few mentally challaged folks. It is a miracle none of the people got hurt.
The H.F.D. does an excellent job and always has...always a good group of guys working there, it is good to know they are there when we need them. THANKS GUYS!
